Gunship refit during an ongoing war. Based on combat experience, development in tactics, and fighting doctrine.


The refit was done on an existing hull, which led to design constraints:
- no moving of core internal components
- base armour layers couldn't be changed, it was possible to add a relatively thin internal layer, fill the existing spacing without the removal of the outer hull, and add up to 5cm of armour on top, more than that would necessitate raising of turret hardpoints
- new turret hardpoints could be cut in the hull, however existing hardpoints had to be filled as a priority for work efficiency
- hull could only be elongated at the back of the craft.

Changes made:
- engines were swapped for more acceleration;
- weapon's component completely redesigned, cutting out underperforming or inefficient systems;
- dual-layered laser anti-missile suit was put in place to increase the efficiency of power usage as well as allow for more power to offensive systems under combat situations - the newly mounted 13 MW Green Lasers can take over missile defense role within effective range;
- increased survivability through additional armour, unfortunately, heavier and more expensive due to design constraints;
- the forward laser radiators were moved to increase their survivability as well as improve firing arcs
