With the 20 year anniversary of Half Life 2, Valve finally added a workshop.
Here's now to upload files to the workshop, at least until Crowbar gets updated.


Run Game with console on, running "developer 1"
Go to Extras - Workshop - My Uploads - and then click on "New Item"
Set name, description, a 512x512 png image and the addon folder.
Addon folder being the "Root" that contains materials, models, sounds, ect.
Click the upload button and let it do its thing.
Don't forget to change visibility.

There's a few members, including me, who can help you out.
If you join and immediately DM me, i'll ignore you. Use the designated channels.

I have my own Discord Server[discord.gg] if you'd like to hop in and chat.
I sometimes post WIP images of what i'm doing, but it's mostly memes.

Nah i'm probably gonna make one map with buttons on which you can just spawn the ep1 and ep2 specific props whenever you want. probably less of a headache.

Yes. I've began working on it a week after the 20th anniversary update, but its a bit weird.

HL2 only loads ep1 assets when ep1 is active, same for EP2 assets.
So making one map with everything inside of it looks like this:

Which is not very nice to look at. So i gotta figure out how i wanna make the map look.
Also, you can dead ass jsut use anabelle and alyx's gun in this map.

got a question, is there a plan for a tumtara map for half life 2 to test mods?

by the way, the image doesn't have to be 512x512, i seen plently of mods with images above that

I've only gotten that from using the wrong image file size and the vpn.
If it is something besides that, i wouldn't know what it is.

Yeah, the image size shouldn't be above 1mb or it will error.

I wouldn't know how to fix that, because i did not make the game.
You'd have to contact steam support, or "trial and error" your way through it.

My only guess is that the image you chose is too large.

it crashes when i add the image
