they took and released photographs which were then used in a medical textbook
a texture artist at valve found the photos and rubbed his hands together
simple as that

A lotta people dont really know how it happened, its not like valve grabed a ramdom guy they found on the street and took a photo, this man donated his body to science before death and his pictures ended up in a place where valve found them
