Without fix game just blackouts screen and exits to main menu (without credits in The chapter End because they're baked to video).
Fix need some tweaks:

1. Install GCFScape[nemstools.github.io]
   
2. Open Workshop item via GCFScape. File stored here:
   
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\220\3367568582\workshop_dir.vpk
3. Extract media/in_the_vr_end.bik to new media folder (new for 20th Anniversary update):
   
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2_complete\media
