Yes. The majority are the same texture resolution but there were very specific instances of higher resolution textures found in the repo. The grenade bottom texture was found in the cut beta "conscript" character's folder.

Sorry, what do you mean they don't exist anymore? Isn't the uncompressed texture pack on gamebanana you are referring to using the repo textures and essentially not downscaling them? So they should be the highest available right? I compared his pack to retail and many are significantly larger in resolution and it appears they match what is in the repo. grenadebottom is an example. In retail it's 64 x 64 and the repo texture is like 512 x 512 and the uncompressed pack reflects this. Am I not understanding something? Any light you can shed on this? Thanks.

They don't exist anymore unfortunately. Your only options are the 4x Gigapixel upscale pack or uncompressed vanilla textures. You can find both on GameBanana but someone did manage to upload the upscale pack on the Workshop.

Is there a texture mod for pre-downscale textures for more of Half-Life 2? Might be a cool project to take on. Idk what is available and if it can be distributed though.
