AIRBOAT REMASTER (2021)

Around April of 2021 I had a lot of free time on my hands. As my second foray into using substance painter I set about creating a high quality recreation of the airboat from HL2 as my buggy recreation had been quite the success.

My goals for this project were to come up with an interesting take on a modern version of the airboat with more structural connections. With both the buggy and the airboat many elements float or have no physical connections so it was fun for me to come up with ways to make the overall shape feasible with minimal additions.

To date 90,000 unique users have subscribed to the item on the Garrysmod workshop. It currently sits at 19,000 subscribers and is included in 4300 workshop collections.

This file includes two replacements
airboat.mdl
airboatweapon.mdl

The materials are not replacements and are contained in materials/models/airboat_remaster

I have not extensively tested this model replacement for bugs or gameplay blockers, if you encounter any please make a discussion thread or comment and I will attempt to fix it.

This model currently has not LOD fade so it will be performance intensive for low-end systems.
