描述
Stop pets eating just about everything but what you want them to with an animal diets overhaul. This will effect all animals (wild, domestic, and pets), but shouldn't cause any wild animals to starve.

Large Herb Animals (deer, goat, etc) will prefer animal feed and hay piles (such as on a stockpile or in a trough) as their first priority. Wild sources of food prioritize hay plants with shrubs as a secondary priority and all player grown plants such as carrots, cabbage, etc are at the lowest priority.

  • Small Herb Animals (hares, chicken, etc) have similar priority to large herb animals.

  • Cats no longer eat honey or milk (as both are very bad for cats). Animal feed is their first priority with carcasses, meats and fish second and your cooked meals the lowest priority.

  • Meat Eaters (Dogs and Wolves) have a slightly higher priority for animal feed with carcasses a close second, followed by meat and fish, then cooked meals as the lowest priority.

  • Bears, Foxes and Rats do not have their diets changed.

Also, the large wooden structure in the top left of the screenshot is basically used as a warehouse, where most of the hay is stored.

@DoveLord which version of the game are you playing on? Are you able to share screenshots of your settlement?

I just did a new test. This time I removed all mods (including this one) and tested it on vanilla.
As a result, animals do eat resources like food, but at least they don't eat the plants that villagers are growing.
So it seems like this mod is the cause of the animals constantly eating plants.

Of course the mod is enabled. It wasn't difficult at all since I've already used many other mods. I've tested the mod by unsubscribing and resubscribing several times to see it works properly.
I even removed all other mods to avoid conflicts and tested it with only this mod enabled in a new settlement, but the same problem persists.
It's applies to all animals, pets or domestic.
And the hay is always stored outdoors, with just a roof and no walls or fences, so that the animals can easily access it.

@DoveLord - please make sure to enable the mod in the in game menu on the start screen before starting your save.

If the mod is properly enabled please make sure to share more information including game version, if the animals are domestic or pets, where and how the food is stored, etc so I can look into it further. I am not seeing any issues on the normal or experimental branches, but I can't always think of every possible scenario so I could have missed some weird behavior.

There is plenty of accessible hay nearby, but my cows and goats prefer the growing barley plants.

Unfortunately I am not able to replicate it without more information. I tested both donkeys and cows (I'm presuming you mean pets not domestic animals if they are eating your settler's food?) and even if the fodder was significantly further away then a meal they still went to go eat the fodder. I would suggest double checking to make sure the mod is still enabled on the main menu mod management window just in case.

the mod clearly worked the day I installed it, the domesticated animals only ate hay or in the feeders. on the other hand, after reloading my save another time, the domesticated cows and donkeys started eating the food intended for the settlers in the cold room again, abandoning the hay placed outside

@Orgald can you clarify by what you mean by granary? What specifically are they eating? Where is the hay located vs the granary? Was it working previously for you?
Orgald 5 月 28 日 上午 8:08
hey is this working actually ? cause my domesticated cows prefer eating in my granary instead of hay... ;)
