The Arabian Folly Pt1: Mission Briefing

Briefing
"Listen closely, Admiral. We have done well to come this far, but we have more to go. The Palmyra Pocket is behind us now, closed thanks to some unnamed mercenary aviation assets and a heavy ground push. But that success has paved the way for the next phase—the recapture of Cyprus.

The landing zone is our first priority, but we won’t be able to clear it unless we neutralize the threat posed by TAF’s carrier group to the southeast. That Forrestal-class carrier, along with its escorts, must be eliminated before our Marines can safely land.

Our strike group will spearhead this. Our air and naval assets will work together to neutralize their carrier threat. Once we’ve established air superiority, we’ll focus on the coastal anti-ship batteries on the eastern coast of Cyprus. If we don’t take them out, the Marines won’t stand a chance when they hit the beach.

This is crucial. The TAF won’t roll over for us, but with precision and coordination, we’ll secure this beachhead and give our Marines the opening they need.

I trust you all understand what’s at stake. Now let’s get to work."

Objectives

Primary Objective: Strike the TAF Carrier Group. Eliminate the Forrestal-class carrier and its supporting vessels using precision strikes and coordinated attacks from our naval and air assets.
Secondary Objective 1: Eliminate TAF Air Cover. Neutralize fighter jets and air defenses using a combination of naval and air strikes.
Secondary Objective 2: Destroy Coastal Anti-Ship Batteries. Locate and destroy missile batteries on the eastern coast of Cyprus to ensure safe passage for our strike force.
Additional Challenge: Beware of Cyprus defenses. TAF has airbases and ground defenses stationed on Cyprus, which could provide support and hinder our operations.

Faction Backgrounds
Greater Arabia (GA):
Greater Arabia and its military branch the Holy Army of Greater Arabia represent a powerful coalition of Sunni and Shia Muslim nations united under a charismatic leader who claims a divine mission. This faction emerged from a religious resurgence aimed at reclaiming sovereignty over lands perceived as threatened by Western imperialism. They leverage their considerable wealth and military resources to engage in defense and expansion efforts, striving to reshape the political landscape in the Middle East and unify the Muslim world under a common cause.

The Atlantic Federation (TAF):
The Atlantic Federation is a strategic alliance comprising most Western European and North American nations, focused on maintaining geopolitical stability and countering emerging threats. In response to aggressive moves from the Eastern Sovereignty Alliance and the Holy Army of Greater Arabia, they engage in coordinated military operations to protect their interests and promote a liberal democratic order. With a robust military infrastructure and advanced technology, the Federation aims to deter adversaries and uphold their values in an increasingly multipolar world.

What is The Ascension Wars?
The Ascension Wars is my personal worldbuilding project, blending inspiration from Ace Combat and Project Wingman. It features maniacal warlords, intense military campaigns, and a mix of narrative-driven missions in DCS and Sea Power.
