Gnomes

"Gnomes, originally published in Dutch in 1976 as 'Leven en werken van de kabouter' (lit. 'Life and work of the gnomes'), then released in English in 1977, is a nature book written by Wil Huygen and illustrated by Rien Poortvliet."

"'Gnomes' was adapted in a 1980 television film of the same name, directed by Jack Zander."

At some point, someone filmed their own television/VCR playing a portion of that production. That film eventually made its way in 320p to the Internet Archive, where it was later rediscovered and lovingly turned into a desktop wallpaper for Wallpaper Engine, replete with a few stock effects and a text blurb reading "Gnomes" in the font from the original book cover.
