ORCA - RE2

Primary Role: Cargo Hauler, Dense Asteroid Mining Platform

This is my take on a ship design inspired by the ORCA from Eve Online.

Out of the factory this comes in at core 9 with a bit of CPU left over to add some desired Weaponry or mining equipment. This design is clearly NOT intended to be a combat vessel, as there is no heavy armor or decoys.

However, as you upgrade the CPU it can become a very efficient Dense Asteroid Miner with enough CPU to equip sufficient armament to clear Zirax Hostiles. There are 8 5x5 marked mounting locations for turrets, and 21 marked 3x3 locations with areas where more could be added.

There is also a mining bridge in the forward section of the ship so you use the 2 mining lasers (space to add more) and use this ship to mine regular asteroids as well.

It is equipped with a mix of ION, PLASMA and ANTI-MATTER thrusters in an effort to balance needed thrust with CPU usage, so there is also some upgrade-ability there as well.

For those of you that need to get some sleep on the long journeys through space, the ship is also equipped with a Captain's Quarters and Crew Quarters.
