I tried making the missions quite free, you could approach them in any way you liked.
Good to see that you approached them slightly differently than others I've talked to, so in that the map succeeds.
The last mission is meant to be a stupid hard challenge, that is why it does not matter if you beat it or not, you win regardless of the outcome. It's not easy to increase the difficulty in Stronghold maps so the best I could come up with where a ton of knights, and it looked cool with that many units rushing the castle.
Balancing and handling the AI are extremely messy when making maps, and because the map is quite long with 6 missions, it showed.
I'm very glad you enjoyed it tho. I don't know when I will make another, but it will be of a more manageable length.
I made notes whilst playing through.
-In M2 the PBW reinforcement were obsolete. By the time I got to the tower near the bridge I already beat a majority of the enemy's forces.
-When sieging Arthur due to the fact you used crossbowmen instead of archers I could just do what I wanted with the catapults since I was almost always out of range.
-By the time I reached mission 3 due to the annoying amount of enemies I simultaneously sieged Gawain and Arthur. I had already winded Arthur's estate to a shell to what it was which made the mission significantly easier.
-Due to Gawain's castle design there was no risk. The range I had was too easy to work with. This led to me just waiting for his castle to crumble and charging in.
-And the last mission was just stupid hard.
I didn't beat the siege but the map was overall fun. Thanks for the experience!
