After the discreet salvaging of albatross shield projectors from various battlefields, Zukur sought to use their powerful shield projection abilities for his own fleets, and put together the Gannet class screener. Designed to shield friendly fleets from hostile fire, the ship is moderately protected by simple laser turrets and retains the speed of other ashen council shiops, but is incredibly fragile if it's shieldgoes down. Conseq However, they can also use their shield to 'trap' enemy ships in a shield bubble, preventing them from firing outside of the shield. This cannot be maintained for long, however.
