Darkrai has come to the world of aether to wreck some havoc, show your enemies who is the one really in control



Darkrai is a deception based rushdown, many of his tools involve making your opponent unsure of your true location



Nspecial and Uspecial are both capable of spawning phantoms on stage, phantoms are a form of trap that looks like Darkrai, they will detonate on contact with an enemy, leaving them stunned for a brief moment allowing you to get in, however they can be dispelled by being hit

You can't have a deception character without options, most of the options are tied to button combos with the specials, here is a list of them

nspecial: holding left or right will make the phantom spawn on the opposite side allowing you to get the momentum boost in either directions

fspecial: if performed in the air or if attack is pressed darkrai will instead fire a shadow ball, a simple projectile, however, if shield is pressed during the charge or is held during the first moments of the charge, Darkrai will instead teleport towards the location, you can also hold shield further and if there is at least 1 phantom on stage darkrai will teleport to its location, consuming it

uspecial: uspecial can travel through solid ground as a way to extend its reach, it can also be steered, otherwise it's very short ranged. Normally on activation you take control of the head, leaving the body behind which afterwards turns into a phantom, however if shield is pressed during startup the situation is inverted allowing you to spawn phantoms farther from where you are


Darkrai's signature move makes its debut as down special, hitting foes with it will not deal damage but it will keep them still for enough time to attack furthermore it will trigger Darkrai's install: Nightmare mode

In nightmare mode all of Darkrai's strongs and tilts are improved, getting both extra range and damage, but that's not all, Dark Void becomes unusable in this form and its instead replaced by Dream Eater...
The nightmare will be dispelled if Darkrai is hit when all his clones have dissipated, otherwise...
There is no getting out
Watch out, you might hear or see things while in a nightmare...

Dream Eater is meant to be darkrai's finisher move, on activation it will drag in nearby opponents then hit them with a blow meant to be a finising touch
