Dave's Guide to Noob, Part TWO
由 Mr. Moyer 制作
Hey look, it's still in English. This guide picks up where I left off with Part ONE - in Dunkil city. A bit more advanced than the previous guide, I'm assuming you remember everything I taught you in that one so I can skip over the basics this time.

Introduction
I'm writing this in October of 2024, the game is in FULL RELEASE and has been for 2 years, so I don't foresee any further content updates or major patches. Fair warning: the US English version of the game uses DIFFERENT NAMES for items, NPCs, and locations than every other language pack for this game. I am writing this based on the US English version since that's the one I'm playing. If you are playing a different language pack, just be aware the names of practically everything will be different, and not even direct translations from the original French either.

As of 30 December 2024, the game-killing crash-to-desktop bug HAS BEEN FIXED. Currently this guide only covers you from your first trip to Dunkil on "the Continent of No Return" during the second story ard... up to the end of the Coalition (red) faction campaign, which is the third story arc you'll encounter. The game became completely unplayable for me due to a nasty "memory leak" bug that was causing the game to crash every few minutes, back in October 2024, so I had to stop playing for a while. But with the recent hotfix patch I'm BACK, baby! I'm playing through to the end-game now but there's SO MUCH CONTENT in this game I had to split the guide up again. So if you've progressed past the end of the third story arc (restored the Life Source and Dark Source, then checked in with the Coalition leaders in Bloodcyrdle's castle) then please continue on with PART THREE of my guide, which should be available soon (if it isn't already). As I write this (Jan/Feb 2025), I'm still working on the third part of the guide though so it isn't ready for the public to use yet. But THIS part - part TWO - is ready to roll.

Hello again. I'm still Dave. Still not a programmer or developer. Still not interested in making any complicated tables or graphs for this game. LOL. Welcome back to our journey through Noob: the Factionless. This guide picks up EXACTLY where the last one (same title, but "Part ONE") left off: as you're getting ready to leave Dunkil city to explore the jungle around it, starting the second story arc as a member of the "Empire" faction.

If you haven't reached Dunkil city yet, please STOP HERE and go find my other guide "Dave's Guide to Noob, Part ONE" and get through that one FIRST.

Again, click here for part one of the guide.
Or click HERE if you're already done with part 2 and you need part 3 of my guide.

I'm going to skip the basic information about how to play the game this time, since this is a continuation of my other guide that already provided you with that. However, just to refresh everyone's memory I will give you a reminder about what levels you should be at right now...

  • XP: level 55 - 70.
  • Mining: level 80 - 90.
  • Herbalist: level 80 - 90.
  • Fishing: level 50 - 60.
  • Cooking: level 50 - 60.
  • Inventing: level 50 - 60.

You should also still have some side quests open, because we aren't a high enough level to acquire the requested materials yet, or we haven't progressed the story far enough yet. Feel free to keep an eye on your Quests menu tab for changes periodically, but I'll do my best to keep you informed of when we are able to complete things as we go through the game. These are the ones that should still be pending for you:

  • LOG (main quest): explore Syrial Greenwood (southwest from Dunkil) with Rafer Coult.
  • CENTRALIS - Couem Elquinto, find his yellow notebook IRL and bring it to the Justice Guild HQ.
  • CENTRALIS - Geek Nemesis, bring him a bunch of ores, some of which you can't mine yet.
  • CENTRALIS - Erork, talk to him after becoming Level 1 Technograde (legendary class for Baster)
  • CENTRALIS - Gigach4d, talk to him after getting 50 high scores (still don't know what those are)
  • LASSIERRA MINE - Sleyah, bring the Athanor Medallion (which you haven't found yet).
  • FORTUGA - Do a side quest for Hairost... you need one from each faction to complete this quest.
  • TENEBROS - talk to Juan Peace when you get there.
  • DUNKIL - Naeril'Isildar, find 1 Rosapphyre in the Syrial highlands (in progress, we're on the Syrial continent currently).
Additional Game Mechanics
As you get deeper into the game, you'll still run into a few NEW features that will unlock for you.

Factionless - your party quits the current faction, gains GRAY triangle icons over your heads, and is basically "homeless" no longer part of any of the game's official factions. You'll unlock this during the quest in the woods near Dunkil.

Faction Swap - once you're factionless, you can CHOOSE a new faction to join. Remember that the Empire is yellow (you started with them), the Coalition is yellow, and the Order is green. You CANNOT join the Admins (blue) faction, the NPC pirates, or the NPC merchant faction. But any of the three main player factions is fair game.

Most SIDE QUESTS can only be completed if you are currently a member of the correct faction. You will not fail any side quests by changing factions, but you will have to change back to the correct faction before you can talk to the quest giver again or make any progress with the quest.

STORY QUESTS will be abandoned if you change factions, because each faction has its own story quest lines.

NEW MOUNTS! You can unlock mounts that swim (giant Krokokin sea-dragons) to traverse lakes, rivers, or even oceans! Swimming to the edge of the map will allow you to swim to another continent. Then you will unlock mounts that fly (DRAGONS, baby!) so you can zip around over the tops of mountains, too! Some areas are LOCKED behind walls that you can't get past without the right type of mount. ALL terrestrial mounts work the same way - same speed, too, just different colored skins. Same for the swimming and flying mounts. You can purchase additional mounts once you reach the point in the story where you unlock the first of that particular type, but the only difference will be the color. Also, if you want to switch mounts, you have to DISMOUNT first. Then go into the "Jobs" menu and switch to a different one. Then get on your mount.
Crafting Component Locations
Herbs & Ores
  • Cloud Mane: enter the Guild Hall area, there are four near the front door and four around the corner where you can see the Noob Guild statues.
  • Chivaltuft: Spindlegrist Forest
  • Copper & Silver: enter the Tower area, there are three of each along the path from the exit to the front door.
  • Copper & Gold: Vulca
  • Verveina: On the world map, start at the Guild Hall and walk Northwest, you'll see three of them in a line.
  • Gold & Rosapphyre: inside the Lassierra Mine or in the Empire's fort nearby
  • Titanium & Platinum: exterior of the Lassierra Mine or in the Empire's fort nearby, Etermine Mountains, Minebrok Valley
  • Lilac Wort: world map outside Centralia (the Empire's domed capital city), there are only 2 or 3 in the whole area though... better spot is the Syrian Plains (Order territory)
  • Cristalys Foam: Ashentak Marsh, on the Syrian continent (Order territory), Minebrok Valley
  • Lilium Borealis: exterior of the "black mage" hideout behind the Lasierra Mine, Vulca
  • Crimson Wort: cemetery behind Spindlegrist Village
  • Arturius Charmbloom: Arturis (the zone with the giant spiders)
  • Bellis Magma: Eternite Mountains south of Bloodcyrdle
  • Peralipitosporum: Polaris, or Tenebris
  • Ethernite: Arturis (the zone with the giant spiders)
  • Manarite: Torith city
  • Cyclopean Carnation: Alchemists' front yard, west of Parow city
  • Ardent Vulcarum: exclusive to Burgeonbud
  • The Ardent Vulcarum and Cyclopean Carnation both have only one purpose: sell for 1000 coins each.
  • DO NOT sell the ethernite bars, it's more profitable to sell the ingredients: 2 manarite + 2 ethernite ore = 1800 coins, while 1 ethernite bar = only 1250 coins.

Fish
Check the "Fishing" page on the "Jobs" tab in your in-game menu, it will show you what fish have been caught at every location you've visited so far. Fish you haven't caught yet will be marked as "???".
The moctopus and squidge both are level 100 fish, both only have one purpose: sell for 1000 coins each.

Burgeonbud
You can find almost any fish (below fishing level 80) in the waters here. Most of the herbs will be randomized each time they respawn. And occasionally you'll find a loot chest - if you open it to take the loot, then fight an enemy, the chest will refill with a different randomized loot item. If you leave the area, the chest will vanish.

Enemy Drops
  • Telluric Current: elementals & golems, Etermine Mountains shop
  • Effervescent Foam: Nemo (fish) monsters, Fortuga south dock shop
  • Reptile Scale: krokoken & dragonnet monsters, Fortuga south dock shop
  • Sticky Sap: Carnablooms, shop in the center of Syrial Greenwood
  • Fresh meat: Mammal monsters, Shop in the center of Syrial Greenwood
  • Fur Tuft: Furry Monsters, not for sale
  • Robust Claw: Hobtrolls & goblins, not for sale

Shops
ALL the herb, ore, potion, and fish shops in the game (with a few exceptions in early game & lone shops that don't appear in every town) are THE SAME. They have the same items in stock no matter which town you visit. HOWEVER, that list will change a bit, adding new items as you progress through the main story quests. The pet stores, magic card shops, armor shops, and weapon shops are UNIQUE to each town, they all sell something different. So when you first arrive at a new town, check the shops to see what's new. Then after you finish the quests for that town or gain 10 levels, check again to see if anything changed before you move on to the next place.

I've written to the developers and left a note about this on their official bug report website, and this was their reply:

"Thank you for your message,
The teams are aware of this issue and are currently working on a patch to resolve the crash problems. No date has been given for the release of this patch, but we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Best regards,

EDIT: The December 2024 patch has FIXED THESE CRASHES!!
THANK YOU, Microids!!
But still, it is good advice to SAVE OFTEN just in case something bad happens.
1 - Dunkil Jungle Fever
As you load up your game, if you followed along with my previous guide, you should be in the city of Dunkil. You're surrounded by shops, so if you need to refill your Pokeball stash, or buy some fish for crafting, or whatever... now is the time. When you're ready, you can exit town at the northeast corner. In case you forgot what you're doing here, you've been sent to look for a LARGE source of Rosapphyre for the emperor to continue powering his technological research. Supposedly there is a rosapphyre meteor crash site somewhere in this jungle. You have an Empire official treasure hunter along with you. You should also have another guy tagging along as part of a side quest. And so... here we go, into the undiscovered country or whatever. When you exit town, remember to RIDE YOUR MOUNT. That way, enemies won't usually chase you and you move a little faster.

You'll meet some NEW enemies, and you can hit them with Pokeballs to make them your friends! However, you MIGHT need to nerf yourself by equipping level 40 gear if you are level 55 or more, otherwise you might accidentally kill them before you can capture them.

Pets:
Wonkykong (gorilla)
Snapping Carnabloom (green vine monster)

You're supposed to head west into the forest next. But feel free to explore for a minute, this part of the world map isn't very big after all. If you head all the way to the eastern end of the island, you'll find some Lilac Wort, Silver ore, a fishing spot for this NEW fishing list at the Syrial Sea, and a mysterious cave you can enter. The cave has an Elixir and a Major Resurrection Potion... totally worth the trip!! And then out on the peninsula you'll see a group from the green faction having some kind of gathering in front of some kind of shrine. Then on the south end of the island, you'll find a little glen marked by a wooden sign that has some nice treasure. And that's all you can reach without going through the forest first.

PAUSE! Once you enter the Greenwood forest, you CANNOT go back into Dunkil again for a VERY long time. So make sure you did everything that you wanted to do there. Okay, unpause.

So let's head into the forest now. The path through here is pretty straightforward, so just keep moving. You'll find A TON of buried gold though, if you keep your eyes open and search every vine, tree, and rock. Eventually you'll come to a sign telling you that the plains are to the right, the ruins are to the left. At this point, you need to head left because the NPC with you won't let you exit the area to reach the plains anyway; you need to beat the ruins first. So keep moving until you reach a save point in front of a small gate. SAVE YOUR GAME. At this point, if you need any extra Verveina or Lilac Wort, this is the best place in the game to farm for both of them. Kill all the monsters in ANY area in this forest, then just run laps around the area as the herbs respawn in under a minute. We specifically got Herbalist up to level 80 previously just so we can grab 4 Verveina & Lilac Wort every time we pick some up. That "one herb per plant" rule is for the birds LOL. You should pick a bunch of the herbs while you're here because at your current job levels you're no longer earning job XP for crafting with the Cloud Mane or Chivaltuft. So you need better herbs to keep leveling up your cooking and inventing when you get back to town. Also, keep an eye out for the brown wolves because you've never seen them before. You can catch one and make it your pet.

Pets:
Wonkykong (gorilla)
Snapping Carnabloom (green vine monster)
Brown Lopeen (wolf)

Herbs:
Verveina
Lilac Wort

When you're ready, go through the little gate into the ruins. It is a dungeon so you're trapped inside until you clear the boss fight at the end. The layout is a simple maze, you have THREE rooms (south, west, and then east) linked by a central room - each of the side rooms has switches. Hit all the switches to activate the device in the center that opens the door to the north. There are also a few treasure chests tucked away, but there are NO hidden items in the scenery this time. There are, however, a couple of new monsters you can tame as pets. Make sure you're at full HP and MP before you enter that northern door that you just unlocked, since there is a boss fight on the other side.

Pets:
Earth Golem
Earth Elemental

When you're done here, you're supposed to head east through the forest, this time keep going east towards the Plains instead of turning south back to Dunkil. When you reach the end of the path, you meet a strange man who joins your guild and proposes that you play as FACTIONLESS, which means you're not part of the Empire, the Coalition, or the Order. You will basically bounce between the factions, changing at will, to maximize the rewards for playing different sides in each story arc. Factionless players have the GRAY triangle icon over their heads. Like your party does now!! Exit the forest, and turn right. On a small hill over there is a camp for the Order. They have a save point, use it before you do anything else.
2 - Turning Green in the Syrian Plains
According to your new friend, your goal now is to complete a quest for the Order so that you can join their faction. Oh, look, a QUEST BOARD for the Order is right next to the save point. How convenient. It has two quests available: collect some Lilac Wort (which grows in this area) and kill some brown lopeen wolves (which roam this area). Go ahead and accept the quests now, but don't turn them in yet because we still have one last side quest for the Empire to finish first. Head due west, into the little camp that's infested with the red goblin monsters (called "oogie boogie"). Your friend wants the pink Rosapphyre crystal from the back of the camp. While you're here, you can weaken the oogie boogie monsters and capture one, and a shaman too. Then you can go out and hunt wolves and collect lilac wort for the Order's quest board. You might also notice some fishing spots around here, there's a new fishing list for this area, not the same as the local coastlines on the world map. If your fishing skill is still below 50, this is a good place to level it up. While you're out and about, more pets!

Pets:
Brown Lopeen (wolf)
Oogie Boogie
Oogie Boogie Shaman
Frapatross (brown bird)

And now you can turn in those two quests. Once you do, your party's indicator turns GREEN. Welcome to the Order. There are two exits from here. Take the path NORTHEAST first, the Order has another small camp there, grab some loot while you're here. Then go back and take the NORTHWEST path, this is the way forward. More of the same here. Some silver, some lilac wort, a few monsters and loot. The northern exit takes you to the north half of the island's world map.

The city you are supposed to head for is just north of you, you can see it from here. If you head WEST you will find more brown lopeen and frapatross, a bit of verveina, and some silver. But if you head EAST you'll find something NEW. There is one single plant where you can pick some Crystalis Foam herb. And a Daywing enemy (pink bat). If you're interested in capturing all the pets, you can snag that Daywing while you're here. If you kill it accidentally, go back into the zone you came from and then pop back over here to try again.

If you head into the Ashentok Marsh, you'll find some green imps you can capture as a pet, as well as a new fishing list, and some more crystalis foam herbs. I'd recommend sticking around here a while to grab a whole lot of the crystalis foam since it's basically the best place to farm for it. At the back of this area you'll find a giant crocodile just chilling in the river. If you kill this one before capturing it, don't panic there are more in the area behind it.

Pets:
Brown Lopeen (wolf)
Frapatross (brown bird)
Daywing (pink bat)
Marsh Korrigan (in Ashentak Marsh)
Marsh Krokokin (in Ashentak Marsh)

The next area has a bunch of the same marsh monsters, a bit of loot, and some more crystalis foam. The exit is to the east. The final marsh area has a big pond in the center, with three paths through it. The far eastern path around the outside of the water leads back out to the world map, a shortcut so you can avoid walking through the swamp again when you're ready to leave. The center path leads to a chest on the northeast corner of the pond. The western path lets you reach the treasure chest in the middle of the pond, a fishing spot, a guy begging you to take him through the nearby dungeon, and a small "back yard maze" with a crystalis foam herb in the center and a treasure chest (guarded by a pirate ghost) in the back. The ghost monster can't be caught as a pet, sorry. That's it for now, since you can't enter the dungeon yet.

"But Dave," I can hear you thinking, "If we can't enter the dungeon until later, why did we have to come here right now?" For the fish. Not kidding. Use the one fishing hole here to levelup your fishing job to 60. Maybe even 70 if you have the patience for it. I have two reasons for doing this here and now. First: higher fishing level increases your chance of catching rarer fish. Second, and more important right this minute: you will need a whole bunch of the pink fish and the gold fish that you can catch here, for leveling up your cooking and inventing skills... now that you have a big pile of Crystalis Foam herbs to work with, too. So collect them here, then use the cook pot and inventing table in the nearby city. See? There was a method to my madness... this time. Muwahahahahahahahhaaaaa.... ACH, AKK, cough cough... ahem.

When you feel like you have enough Crystalis Foam and enough fish, leave by the eastern exit to the world map. Now you just walk right up to the city to the west, it's due north from the exit you took from the Plains.
3 - Galaya city and the Swampy Marshes
Once you're in the city of Galaya, the first area has a save point, a bit of treasure to find, and two gold ore veins. That's basically it. Save your game and move north to the next part of town. There's a cook pot, an invention table (hint: use them to levelup your jobs, right now you can get them over 50 each if you farm the local resources from the marsh, the plains, and the fishing spots). You'll also find a post office and a shop that sells ores. The stairs near the cook pot lead to an academy. There's not much there, just a bit of loot. The road to the east leads to the "downtown" area.

Here you'll find all the other shops. Behind the fish merchant is a guy with a side quest: find May's strongest card in the game and show it to him... that's going to take a while so just add it to the list for now. To the north is the palace, where you're supposed to go meet the princess. The southeast exit goes back to the world map. The southwest exit leads to the manaball stadium where you can bet on matches again. The trick is: talk to both captains first, then bet on the one with the lowest score. For example, if captain A's team rank is 1.2 and team B's rank is 5.4, bet on team A. When you're done exploring the city, head north to the palace. Feel free to save your game in the courtyard before you enter.

After talking with the princess, you can go back into the throne room, or the room next to it. There's nothing there for you, but if you just want to see what they look like then go for it. Then you'll need head out of the city, east into the marsh again. As you approach the dungeon at the end of the marshes, the princess will tell you this used to be a fertile land, but the Water Phoenix cursed it with an eternal rain as punishment for a corrupt lord who allowed his people to die of thirst while he hoarded all of the water in his own castle. So the phoenix turned the place into a swamp, and gradually turned that lord into a mud golem. LOL. I guess that's a fitting punishment. Save your game outside the door, check your skills and gear (maybe also your equipped cards for May), then head on in. Remember the princess asked you to clear this dungeon PLUS you have a friend who asked you to help him through it as a side quest, so this is a two-fer.

This place is easy to navigate. You can even avoid most of the enemies if you're stealthy. In one room you'll find a ghost enemy, which starts a fight with two ghosts and a bat. This battle is worth 1000 XP and the enemy does not move from that spot. In the next room after that, the first enemy you see is a fight against three ghosts also for 1000 XP, so if you haven't hit your XP lock yet (I think we're up to level 70 now, right?) you can go back and forth to respawn them to farm for some XP. Down the stairs after that... leads to the boss fight. He's a tanky damage sponge and he likes to hit you with poison and sleep attacks. He's also immune to bleed, weak, mark, and blind so don't worry about trying to hit him with any status effects, just blast him with raw damage until he crumbles back into the mud from whence he came.

Teleporting to the next room finishes the side quest, so that guy rewards you with some resurrect potions and money and then he joins your guild. You now have 11 members, yay! Save your game, and cross the bridge. You'll be teleported to an astral plane. In here, every 10 seconds there will be a blast of wind. You can dodge it by hiding behind a wall, or you can tank it to the face. All it does is slow you down by a couple of seconds, no big deal. There is ONE treasure chest at the top of the first hill, and a couple of hidden piles of gold further down the path that aren't even enough to worry about looking for them. So just follow the path to the right until you find Sin. You win this fight if you get him down to about half his HP. Then you end up back at the palace, with a new mission to go to war against the Empire and the Coalition since they're invading these lands.

Real quick, I'll remind you about this again later because you don't actually need to do it RIGHT NOW, but if you're filthy stinking rich from too much grinding for coins then we can get it started now... if you don't have 20,000 gold yet then SKIP this paragraph for the time being and we'll come back to it later. Okay... go to the tavern in Galaya. Make sure you have around 20,000 coins. Buy FIVE drinks at the bar in a row. And... woah, dude, can you taste COLORS? LOL. Apparently you blacked out and are having a fever dream... no, wait, this is REAL!? Yep. This is the Biffler Glade, home to the cutest fuzzy friends in the universe. There's a man standing by the entrance to town, he sells ONE item and one item only. You will need 20 of them for a side quest... there may be a person wandering around here who asks you for them, or they may show up later in the game, who can say. Also, keep your eyes peeled for a yellow biffler, you can catch him. And there might be a woman playing some music for a ring of dancing bifflers... but I think she only shows up if you are in the Coalition (yellow) faction. Her side quest can't be completed for a LONG LONG LONG LONG time anyway so it doesn't even matter. But if you see her in the northeastern corner of the glade, say hi.

Before you leave town, stock up on any potions, armor, or weapons that you want. Then head back through town and pick up any side quests. There are TWO in the area to the west from the palace. One is standing outside and asks you to bring him a green crystal thing. The other is inside the building behind that guy, a one-armed archer who asks if you might get him un-stuck if you ever find him having problems with doorknobs or levers in a dungeon.

4 - To War!
Head out of town. Back to the plains, then through the forest. BE CAREFUL in the plains, you'll get killed by some PK'ers but this is a fight you're scripted to lose, not a real game over. After that first one, you have to sneak around these guys. There are multiple clones of them walking patrol routes all over the plains. Sneak behind them, or very far in front of them, so they don't see you. If you are seen, you'll have to start over from the beginning of the area.

When you finally manage to sneak past them, in the forest you'll need to keep an eye out for a SMALL GREEN GLOWING CRYSTAL on the ground. This is the thing for that side quest. It's in the SECOND area of the forest, right on the main trail. If you see the sign post telling you the ruins are to the left and plains to the right, you went too far and missed it. Pick it up, and go back to the city to turn it in. Then return this way to continue on.

JUST KIDDING! Did you try to head back, and then May yelled at you for being an idiot? LOL.

Anyway... leave the forest. When you arrive at Dunkil, you'll have to navigate through a destroyed city, fighting a few groups of Empire soldiers as you go. After all that, you clear the second story ark. Nice.

You're plopped back in front of the Tower, thinking it might be a good idea to levelup again... but a couple of other players are having a duel in front of the door so you decide to come back later. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Go back to the Tower first. You still can't get in yet, but there's a side quest to pick up there. Some guy wants a pet Oogey Boogey. You should already have one, they're in the Plains on the continent you just returned from... you know, the "Continent of No Return." But he doesn't WANT that one. So go catch another one for him instead. Oh look, there's a teleport right there that leads back to the city of Galaya. How convenient! Warp back there, turn in the side quest for the guy in the center section of town (he wanted the green gem thing), then leave the city and head back to the Plains to capture another Oogey Boogey monster. The specific one he wants is the ONLY one that won't chase/fight you, you just have to walk up to it and capture it. Hooray. I found it in the northeastern corner of the area, just chilling. While you're here though, that big Oogey Boogey camp in the middle of the area has another pet you can just walk up and grab. It's at the south entry to the little monster camp. If you keep going, you'll find yet another side quest near the end of the forest, you'll get attacked by a girl who claims to be protecting the wildlife from poachers. Yeah, this game features an eco-terrorist vigilante. Defeat her for a cash reward. Now head to the marshes, and go WEST until you find yet another little pet that you can just walk right up to it and take it home with you. It's small, gray, and looks like a mushroom. We're done here for now, go back to the palace and take the portal to the mainland.

Once you're back on the main continent, give your extra Oogey Boogey to the guy by the Tower, you'll get a cash reward and he'll join your guild. Then head over to the Guild Hall. You now have 14 members, so you qualify for the first HQ upgrade! On your way there, if you want to build up some more OP-XP rewards, head to the southwest. You'll find some white bird monsters flying around the world map. You're strong enough to fight them now, and they give a lot of XP. You can also catch them with a Pokeball if you didn't get one earlier. Or you could skip them for now and just head for the guild hall.

When you get there, you'll find gatsu777 waiting for you. He challenges you to a duel. If you win, you get a cash reward and he'll also join your guild. That gives you 15 members now. Head on into your HQ. Talk to your NPC butler first, pay the 10,000 coins to expand your HQ. Now you have a merchant in your HQ who sells a few cards and a couple of accessories. Cool! Now you can speak with your friend in the black robe to start the next main quest.
5 - Bloodcyrdle & Turning Red
Spectre takes you on a trip to Bloodcyrdle. You'll have to fight some white wolves on the way there, but you can't catch them as pets this time. Then you decide to log out and sleep. In the morning, you play as Sara. You can wander around the city and talk to your neighbors, but none of them have anything new to say. Except... as you're leaving your apartment, your neighbor runs by, looking for her lost cat. Take a bus to the Downtown area, since you wanted to have breakfast at the cafe there anyway. As you approach the cafe (in the northeast corner of the city) you'll see a cat run by. Chase it! You'll have to catch the cat a few times, eventually you end up catching it and returning it to your neighbor, who says she can help you in-game later. Cool. Go back to Sara's apartment and use her computer. Sadly, no time for breakfast after all that.

Once you're in the city of Bloodcyrdle, save your game. As a Factionless, you have limited access to the city, only the first few buildings and a couple of shops. Head west to the quest board to find the two (repeatable) faction quests. You can go kill some white lopeen (wolves) outside the city, or you can bring 10 gold ore nuggets. Or do both. Either way, do at least one quest to join the Coalition faction. You probably have at least 10 gold ore on you right now, so I'll assume you just turned that quest in. Oooh, look at your shiny new red icons. Great. Now head south out to the world map. Look, it's a winter wonderland out here!

Go west from the city, you'll find a road sign marked with a "?" that leads into a cave. Grab the lit torch near the exit and use it on the chunk of ice to reach the treasure. Now go back outside. Head south to find a fishing spot with a new list of fish for the Orn Waters. In this part of the map you'll find some players from the Empire (your original "yellow" faction) who want some PVP action. You'll also find those white lopeen wolf monsters you need for that quest. You CANNOT catch a white lopeen as a pet, sad. If you follow your map northwest, you'll run across ice golems and ice elementals. You're SUPPOSED TO BE level 45 right now, at which point these would be a tough fight for you. But we're level 70 so we got this. Toss some pokeballs to catch one each of those things, too. Since you're already here. There's also another fishing spot at the NW corner of the map. And right in front of the fishing spot, sort of guarded by an ice elemental, you can find some BELLIS MAGMA herb! Never seen this one before. Pick it up, you'll find a use for it later. All around this northwestern map you'll find individual spots to harvest crimson wort, gold, titanium, platinum, and that bellis magma. Plus three fishing spots. If you're feeling masochistic, stay out here going back and forth between the bellis magma and the fishing spot until you boost your herbalist job to level 90 (or maybe even 100). But I'm not that masochistic, not yet at least, I only got up to 85 before I walked away LOL.

You won't be able to access the southern part of this map for a little while, you'll need to go through the Etermines to get there and we'll be doing that for a quest pretty soon but not yet.

Pets
White Lopeen (wolf) - NOT A PET just kill it
Ice Golem
Ice Elemental

Now that we've seen what's outside, and we turned in our "turn me red" quest, let's go back into the city and find the next story arc, plus a few side quests. After exploring the area around the city gates, step onto the blue teleporter. Head for the City Center first. Do some shopping, explore the area. Like every other part of the city, there's a lot of gold buried in the scenery. There are TWO side quests here, and they're standing side by side. First is a lady whose dress was ruined by a spilled drink, she wants you to find Ardtoostyle. The other one wants you to go outside and kill a bunch of NPC Empire players. Let's do both at once! Head up to the Upper District, Ardtostyle is in his shop, the building with the scissors on the sign. Tell him the lady wants to see him. Finish exploring the Upper District. Then go back to the city gates, leave town, and go murder some Empire players nearby. When that's done, head back to the city, to the City Center area. Go complete both side quests.
6 - Starting the Tabris Arc
First, I think now is a good time to mention if you're crafting food, you can switch menu tabs between "normal strength" items that give you a minor boost, or "+" items for a medium boost, or "X" items for a maximum boost. Notice that similar items will have DIFFERENT ingredients, depending on the quality. Also, if you're stuck at cooking level 50 now, the "+" and "X" items give you more cooking XP than the normal items. So if you stopped gaining XP from the normal ones, you can still earn XP from cooking the higher-tier foods.

Okay, with that out of the way... head to the castle. When you get there, you'll watch a funeral. Afterwards, you're assigned the role of lead detective to discover who killed the general. From there, head back to the City Center to discover some shady (but familiar) characters having a secret meeting in an alley. After that, head back to the castle and into the throne room to report your discovery. At this point, a portal will open up to send you directly to the Tower. As soon as you arrive there, you'll have a cut scene and a boss fight, so make sure you're prepared before you step into the portal. After the fight... if you need more crafting materials now is a good time to go get some, since you're back on the continent that has the ore mine and some good fishing spots. You can't go back to ANY of the Empire's cities or fortresses though, unless you go back to the Empire's faction (or factionless). Likewise, you can't go back to the Order's city unless you switch factions again, too. But what you CAN do right now is head for Portburgh, go to the docks, and you'll find a player who was waiting for you to finish quests for ALL the factions. You did that, so talk to him and hell join your guild. Hooray! You can also go run around the Lassierra Mine, as well as the fortress behind it, to gather more ore if you need some. That Empire Fort there has 2 rosapphyre, 2 titanium, 1 gold, 1 platinum, and 2 verveina. Just murder your faction-mates who wander around the place and then do some mining laps. Then if you need more lilac wort you can head east from the end of the mine into Arks Rift. Nothing new here, just the same old crafting ingredients if you need them. Then if you want more OP-XP to grind, head up to the area around Centralis. Fight your fellow Coalition members in PVP here... kill some black dragons, black dinosaurs, black godzillas, and rainbow worms. They all give SO MUCH XP!!! This is totally optional, of course. But if you want some "free" stuff and extra skill points, it might be worth it.

When you're ready, go back through the RED portal at the Tower to the Coalition's palace. New mission: cross the mountains to the south and check on a village there. Leave the city and turn south to the Etermine Mountains, the area you couldn't get into previously.
7 - Etermine Mountains
This place is GREAT! TONS of ore, TONS of herbs! Kill off the enemies and do a few laps, you'll quickly get your mining and herbalist skills up to 90 or even 100. Plus you'll wind up with TONS of materials you can use later to levelup your crafting jobs. A couple of things to note here:
ANYTIME you see a treasure chest frozen in ice, there is a burning torch nearby you can grab. This starts a timer, I think it's 5 or 10 seconds, before the torch burns out. If you can reach the ice block fast enough, use the torch's flame to melt it. Now you can open the treasure inside.
NEW enemies, NEW pets! You probably already nabbed the Ice Golem and Ice Elemental from the world map, but if not you can get them here. You'll also find White Lopeens but you cannot capture them. A new one is the Hobtrolls. Little gray goblins. Snatch one while you're here, if you care about your pet collection. Also, check all the pine trees, logs, snowmen, etc. because there is a considerable amount of gold hidden in the scenery here.

PETS
Hobtroll
Ice Golem
Ice Elemental
White Lopeen (quest reward)

As you go down the path, you'll find a couple of side quests. The first one is at the bottom of the first area, he asks you to defend some of the white lopeens from poachers. The poachers are not far away, in fact they're just on the next screen south. So deal with them and then come back to tell him you were successful. Keep going and you'll find Kamigawa in the third zone, he wants to play some hide and seek. If you can find him in two more locations, he'll join your guild. We'll worry about the other two locations later since you can't reach them yet.

The first two zones of the mountains are pretty straightforward, just a couple of hidden money stashes and frozen treasure chests. Grab a torch, run to the ice blocking the chest and use the torch to melt it. And that poacher-slaying side quest.

Then the third zone has a cave on the north side where you'll encounter a Yetikong monster. You cannot hit him with a pokeball, but you'll be able to BUY him as a pet back in the city if you so choose. Killing him provides a big chunk of XP (too bad our level is locked currently) and a level-45 2-handed weapon for Baster (too bad we're already level 70). He will respawn if you exit the cave and come back, so you can farm him for OP-XP and money if you really want to. You can also run back to town and sell any extra weapons you earn from fighting this monster a bunch of times, but honestly you get about the same amount of money from killing an ice golem than from selling this weapon. I believe you also find Kamigawa here to start his side quest.

The fourth zone is really only notable for its two fishing spots. New fishing list! Feel free to hang out here and collect some purple starfish before you move on. There are, of course, more herbs and ore but by now you probably have a huge pile of them already. After this, you're dumped back on the world map - this time the southern side of the continent. Before you reach town, head into the cave to pickup some treasure (mid-level gear). Then enter the town of Farsight.
8 - Farsight
Yay, a town. It's pretty cozy, even with the snow. Hope you brought your hot cocoa mix! It has the usual bunches of gold buried in the scenery. And all the same shops as Bloodcyrdle had. It also has a cook pot and an inventing table. Pro tip: the "normal" items don't really give you any more XP for crafting them. And their power is really low anyway. So just stop making them. Instead, focus on the "+" and "X" tier items. So the only "normal" tier item you should be making from now on are the ore alloy bars, and the herb bundle bags because those are used as ingredients in the other crafting recipes. From now on, you will also be earning enough coins that you can BUY herbs, fish, and ore from the shops instead of farming them yourself - if you want to pay more money to save more time.

The only thing new here is... well... the army of strange alien monsters on the ice rink in the middle of town. You'll have to fight them in a 3-wave battle. BEFORE you start the obvious side quest near the ice rink, do everything in this town that you wanted to do. You'll still be able to come back here, but that side quest sends you away from the town automatically so it's best to save that until you're really done here. So... back in the western part of town, now that the danger is over you'll find a Nebulous Biffler pet hiding behind the statue in the back corner of town. Then on the southwest side of town you'll find GreenQuiver who is really overdoing the "RP" but whatever, at least he's having fun. Talk to him and he'll join your guild. Now you can head over to the eastern part of town (around the ice rink) and pick up the side quest there...

Just west of the ice rink you should find a side quest. (NOT if you still haven't finished the quest to catch a brown smourbiff for Trap. And if you don't finish this quest, there are two more that won't even show up until you do this one first.) Meet Rononoa Zero, they want you to go find them some wooly smourbiff pets so they can make some cool in-game clothing and armor. You'll be transported automatically back to the Etermine Mountains. You'll have a cut scene, and then you earn a free new pet. Nice. You end up in the second zone of the mountains, which is nice since we were ready to head back to Bloodcyrdle anyway. We just skipped over two zones. So keep going north, back to the world map. Then head into Bloodcyrdle.

First, if there is ANYTHING ELSE you want to do in this city, do it now. Go shopping. Finish any side quests if you haven't done them yet. Then head to the castle. Save your game inside the castle. Talk to the guy with the green "?" over his head to start a cut scene. Then head back to the Keos continent... this is the one where you started the game, it is ruled by the Empire. When you arrive, you still can't get into the tower because we're already level 70 and the game had planned for us to only be tackling the fifth floor of the Tower RIGHT NOW actually. So the PVP in front of the door is our own fault LOL.

But since you already cleared the 5th floor of the Tower, you will be approached by a man who will sell you a water mount!! It costs 10,000 coins so I hope you have some money on you; if not, go get some and then come back. This thing will let you not only walk on land but also swim across lakes, rivers, and even parts of the sea. More of the world map is now accessible because of this.

If you open the world map now, you'll see a city labeled as "Torith" and that's where we need to go next. It's to the east, situated on a lake. BUT FIRST...
Intermission for Crafting
Well, as I said earlier, you now have access to enough crafting materials to start making higher-tier inventions and food. You also have enough money to start buying ingredients instead of spending time farming them yourself, if you want to go that route. So I thought I should give you a quick introduction to the mid-tier and high-tier crafting systems, to give you an idea of what's involved.

You can make basically THE SAME items, but their effects are stronger than normal.
The recipes require different ingredients, often rarer or at least more expensive ones.
There are THREE TIERS of items you can make:
  • Normal... weak, but cheap to make, and barely gives you any job XP.
  • +... slightly stronger, but requires slightly better ingredients. Some of the simpler ones still won't give you any job XP if you're above level 50 already.
  • X... the best of the best, strongest effects, requires premium ingredients, and gives the most job XP.
All three recipe tiers have the SAME types of items you can produce, just better versions of them. EXCEPT the normal tier is the only one where you can make herb packets (for cooking) or ore ingots (for inventing). So you will still get SOME use out of the "normal" crafting tab but not much.
Beyond this point in the game, you should no longer be making normal food or inventions. Their effects are pretty lame, and they don't even give you job XP so they're just a waste of ingredients. Stick to the other two tiers from now on.

You can go into the cooking pot or the inventing table to see the recipes yourself... so I won't list them all here. But I will give you the recipes for a few of them that I think are particularly useful at this point in the game (cooking & inventing levels 70 - 90).

COOKING
  • Dragon Skewer +: 1 Azure Scale + 1 Lilac Wort Packet... mid-level HP healing.
  • Abyssal Slab +: 1 Coral Star + 1 Lilac Wort Packet... mid-level heal & cures BLEED
  • Divine Sashimi+: 1 Eelnevahappun + 1 Crimson Wort Packet... mid-level heal & cures BLIND.
  • Ship Rack +: 1 Spider Star + 1 Crystalys Foam Packet... mid-level heal & cures BURN.

  • Divine Sashimi X: 1 Carpe Diem + 1 Crimson Wort Packet... high-level heal & cures BLIND.
  • Ship Rack X: 1 Gillgamesh + 1 Arturis Charmbloom Packet... high-level heal & cures BURN.

If you get your cooking job up to level 100, you can make TWO items for the price of one. Very nice.

INVENTING
You'll need a METRIC TON of Telluric Current items, because the only items that give you inventing XP past level 60 require Refined Aurium Bars or better, and past level 70 you'll need Titanium Bars or better as ingredients. And to make an Aurium or Titanium bar, you'll need telluric current plus either titanium or gold. And then if you want a REFINED bar, you'll also need a bunch of Rosapphyre. You can get Telluric Current from killing golems and elementals. Etermine Mountains has ice monsters, Vulca has fire monsters, and I know there are some earth monsters but can't remember where I found them.

Me, personally, I found most of the inventing items to be UNDERPOWERED in actual combat use. It's more efficient to just hit the enemy with a regular attack or an AOE attack. So after testing the items out a bit, I stopped using them and only made them to boost my inventing XP up to level 100 to get the achievement. I like the idea of them though, and if you get bored with spamming the Minefield attack on Baster's turn all the time then they're an okay alternative. They just don't pack as big of a punch as I feel like they should have. That goes for the serums, the traps, and the bombs. They're just really not all that useful. But if you enjoy them, feel free to use them as much as you want.

And hey, at least I got a little use out of his cooking items - but only near the end-game when the enemies were roughly the same level as me so I needed healing sometimes.

Coming soon... I want to hit level 70 in inventing first.
9 - The Long, Wet Road...
Before you enter the city of Torith to continue the story, you can explore the region around it on the world map. Careful, the golems and elementals here are significantly stronger than they were in the Etermine Mountains. On your way to the city, you'll see some silver frapatross (big white birds) and you can catch one as a pet if you haven't done it yet. Cross the lake riding your new water mount - holy crap this thing is GIGANTIC - and in the snowy lands west of the city, you'll find some new enemies you can catch as pets! You'll also find a NEW HERB south of the city, a single purple flower called pearlipitosporum. Feel free to farm a bit of that if you want some. And to the west there is a NEW ORE, manarite, sitting beside a cave. Go into the cave to find a new helmet for Drek, it's level 65 so you can actually USE it.

Head north, then east, then north again... cross the sea behind Centralis and head for the shore near Burgeonbud. You'll find two more monsters you can capture there. Don't go into the woods yet though, we're "not supposed to be here" yet. Keep going east across the water. To the north is a rather large park, good for a walk LOL. It has some green dragonnets, insatiable carnablooms, a few herbs and ores, and at the northeastern end is a cave with some loot inside - grab that now. Head north into the water, and go west. The area north of the Burgeonbud forest is blocked off until you get a flying mount, but on the western end of the continent you can get up on land near the Minebrok Valley. On the world map here you will find silver frappatross, night oogey bogey, some crystalis foam herbs, a bit of titanium ore, and a seaside fishing spot. In the Minebrok Valley you'll find more of the same, plus some Arturis Charmbloom herbs, a nice ring, great fishing spots, and a nice hat for Logs. In the next zone, you'll find a nice shield for Baster. And Bandaid is helping Panda Mu-Cakes to find a Panda Smourbiff pet, he'll join your guild now. (If you missed Roronoa Zero's side quest, this won't be here yet. If you miss this one, another Bandaid side quest won't be available later.) East of that is some nice armor for May, then an exit to the world map. The panda smourbiff is in the first zone, on the east side. You can't miss it, it looks like a tiny panda. Then I highly recommend you hang out here and get your fishing job up to level 80 or so.

Now, the islands to the west require a flying mount, so head south by water and find the island of Fortuga. On the WEST and SOUTH coasts, you can fight some VERY STRONG gorilla monsters and try to catch one as a pet. WARNING: even at level 70 a group of 2 of them managed to kill three of my party before I killed one and caught the other one. So you MIGHT want to save this for later. Then on the eastern side of the island you'll see the same enemies as the last time you were here, plus the port city of Fortuga. Go into the town, into the tavern at the northeastern corner. SIDE QUEST: this guy wants 3 bottles of Coastal Rum. The merchant is right here in town, just west from your ship there is a house that got flooded. South of that house, there is a pier. On the pier, you'll find the merchant. Buy 3 bottles of the rum. I also recommend buying a bunch of Reptile Scale and Effervescent Foam while you're here, if you have the money for them. These are useful for crafting, and also pretty cheap to buy but hard to find because they rarely drop from monster battles. Return to the guy at the tavern and give him the rum, bringing your guild up to 20 members once he joins. Just five more for the next HQ upgrade.

PETS:
Silver Frapatross (near Minebrok & Torith)
Nemofrost
Insatiable Carnabloom (near Burgeonbud)
Green Dragonnet (near Burgeonbud)
Night Oogey Bogey (near Minebrok)
Panda Smourbiff (Minebrok Valley)
Bonkykong (west shore of Fortuga island)
Fire Golem (Vulca)
Fire Elemental (Vulca)

Now, ride your sea-dragon to the southeast until you reach Vulca. Land on the western shore and take down ALL the fire elementals and fire golems you can find... because they're worth a lot of XP and you need the items they drop for some crafting recipes. Work your way around to the southern tip of the continent, and go into Vulca, the fortress at the foot of the big volcano. A little way in, you'll find a SIDE QUEST. This guy wants a fire essence, which drops from a fire elemental monster. Lucklily we're on a volcano so there are fire elementals EVERYWHERE. Kill one, and bring the essence back, and he joins your guild. That's 21 members now. Four more for the next HQ updgrade! Head west from that guy, across the bridge. There's some new armor for Logs over there. If you go north you'll find a save point. But don't talk to the guy with the green "!" yet, that's for the MAIN STORY QUEST and we're technically not supposed to be here yet. You can stay in this little entrance area and farm the enemies for some Telluric Current items if you want to though. But ultimately you'll want to leave, get back on the water, and head farther EAST until you reach the end of the map. Now you can drive your sea-dragon to another continent! Choose Murn.
10 - ... To Torith
About 1/3 of the way down the main island from the north, you'll find an alcove marked with a "?" on a wooden sign. There you'll find a nice new hat for Baster. You'll also find some new herbs to gather on the world map: Arturis Charmbloom. And two new enemies you can capture on the world map! Now head for the center of the island, the southern "green dot" on the map is an oasis with WATER. Go in there. On the northeastern corner, guarded by a white sand krokoken, is a treasure chest with a nice hat for Logs. In the pond is some nice fishing. If you go northwest, without leaving this zone, you'll find an amulet that you needed for a side quest at the Lassierra Mine. The western exit leads to a vast desert with another oasis on the norhtwest side - and a save point. On the northeast side, you'll find a chest hiding in a shipwreck that contains a nice hammer for Drek. Don't talk to the man by the oasis with the green "!" mark since he's part of the main quest and we're "not supposed to be here yet." Go north to the next zone.

Follow the west wall to some treasure, just north of that is a small oasis where a couple of NPCs are fishing. North of that you see a ship in port, beside the ship is a side quest. Sell this guy a bunch of fish, herbs, and ores. It doesn't matter which ones or how many... but the more you sell him the better the reward. As a reward, he'll give you a nice ring, or two. He also runs a little shop for you to buy some crafting materials. Now head east and before you reach the big ruins you'll meet Kamigawa again! That's twice. He leaves. Down in the ruins is a chest containing a shotgun for Baster, but you'll have to go through an Empire PVP fight to get it. Then in the southeastern corner of the area is another treasure chest. After that, you can head back to the world map, get on the water, and head off the map.

Pets
Nemomorph (world map in the Ravendor Desert)
Sand Krokokin (world map in the Ravendor Desert)

Head over to Syrial next. There are THREE caves full of loot that you can reach now that you can swim. One is on a small patch of land on the southeast corner of the map. Then there is one on an isolated path on the southwest corner of the map, and the third is on a separate isolated path northeast from there. There's nothing else here. So... swim off the edge of the map again.

There is NOTHING NEW on Orn. You can, of course, still head back there if you want to fight more ice monsters or collect more herbs and ores in the Etermine Mountains... of if you need a place to save your game and restock your pokeballs you can swing by Bloodcyrdle.

Head back to Keos continent. Then make your way over to the area north of Polaris. Due north of Polaris, there's a small dead-end path that looks like a finger pointing east on your map. Go there to find a cave full of loot and another Manarite ore vein. Now enter Polaris. In the center of the area is a treasure chest set between two giant braziers. Grab that. Then go south to grab another chest in the area with the igloos. Don't talk to the guy with the green "!" yet though, since he's part of the main quest and we're not supposed to be here yet.

Go to the Guild Hall next, save your game there. You'll find TWO side quests outside of the guild office: one wants a list of materials, most of which you should already have. Bring the things to him when you're done and he'll join your guild. The other guy wants four manaball player autographs, which you can get by visiting each of the four manaball stadiums in the major cities around the world. You can get one now - take a quick side trip back to Bloodcyrdle, City District, and take the exit on the south side of the area then find the manaball player on the field. For the other three, you'll have to change factions so it will take some time. Then INSIDE the guild office you'll find another side quest, this guy will give you a cash reward if you talk to him for a history lesson about the game's back story. Easy. Also check the shop in your guild HQ and see if they have anything you'd like to buy. Make sure you have at least one "Detox Broth +" (you make it at a Cook Pot) because you'll need it for a quest pretty soon.

Make one more lap up north, behind Centralis and across the lake there. Keep going east until you hit the sea coast. Then turn south. There is an isolated path that looks a bit like a spoon on your map, at the eastern end where the path loops around on itself there is a cave with some nice treasure inside. The islands to the east (Torim, Broka, & Parow) cannot be accessed without a flying mount so you just can't get there yet.

When you're done messing around, head for the city of Torith. FINALLY!!! LOL.
11 - We FINALLY made it to Torith!
SAVE YOUR GAME. Then go east into the arena to get another autograph for the side quest. Come back to the city square and use the inventing table and cook pot. You will need at least one Detox Broth + for a side quest pretty soon, so make sure to make one of those. By the time you're done with the crafting, for your reference this is where you should be:

  • XP: level 70
  • Fishing: level 80
  • Cooking: level 80
  • Inventing: level 80
  • Herbalist: level 100
  • Mining: level 100
  • Mounts: terrestrial & water, haven't unlocked flying yet
  • Pets: you should have 80, not including the mounts
  • Guild: 22 members, unlocked first HQ expansion to get the guild shop

If you are not quite there yet, it's okay. No need to go grind for more levels (or pets) right this minute, you can save it for later. But this is where you should be (approximately) if you've been following along with my guide so far.

Find the stables (a.k.a. pet store). They have some cool pets for sale, but wow they are super expensive. You might have to come back later for these, but it's okay since this city is run by the merchant build ANY faction is welcome here. Then in the riding skill shop there is another side quest, you'll have to pay 2500 coins to have a chance to open a treasure chest, three will appear but you can only take ONE. One is a jackpot prize, one you get half your money back, and one is empty.

Now, while you're in Torith, be sure to find the tavern. An NPC outside has a side quest: drink at every tavern in the world, then pay him 10,000 coins for a sweet reward. While you're here, make sure you have at least 4500 coins on you. Buy FIVE drinks in a row from the chef Chris P Kreme in any ONE tavern. Since were going into this tavern for a drink for this side quest anyway... this one will do fine. Five drinks in, we get drunk and...
What the heck is this now?? Did we die and go to virtual heaven? LOL.
Right near the exit, an NPC is selling a QUEST ITEM for 200 coins each. You need to buy 20 of them, so do that now. At the northeast side of the glade, you'll find a bard who is looking for a special song. When you find it, come back and give it to her. On the west side of the glade you'll see a yellow pet running around. Grab it, that is the Gold King Biffler.

As you exit the tavern, you'll be summoned to Lord Moneybags's mansion at the north end of town. Remember to use the east and west doors from inside the mansion to grab the treasure chests in his front yard. Speak to him, and he'll task you with traversing the world (again) to find six people and collect an artifact from each of them, if you bring all six artifacts back here then he'll tell you how to close all the off-world portals that are summoning monsters and weird mana from outer space. Check your main quest log in the menu to see the list of places you're supposed to go. It DOES NOT MATTER which order you do them in. We've already been to all but two of them, and those other two we sort of walked right past them on our way to do other things. Autobots, transform and roll out... or whatever.

12.1 - Start at Polaris
I start with Polaris since it's the closest one to Torith. Let's go! Once you're there, go west. Find the man with the green "!" over his head and see what he has to say. It's too cold to continue, but he can make it safe... if you bring him a bunch of magical rocks from Vulca. Alright then, but not yet. First go north and head for Minebrok. Enter the valley and talk to the man with the green "!" over his head, right near the entrance. Then head north, save your game, and take the west exit. Now you'll be tasked with killing 10 of the alien monsters. Not 10 battles, 10 monsters. Some battles have 2, some have 3. After that, you're done here.

Head east to the Burgeonbud Forest. take the northern path, speak to the man with the green "!" that you find there. Also, note there is a save point just a bit further north. Save now. Then head east. When you reach the bridge... BOSS FIGHT! It's immune to blind and stun. And you can use a SPECIAL move to summon a "Hexafoliant" alien to help you, but since you're level 70 and they're level 45... your normal attacks are better. It's basically not that hard, but it is a damage sponge so you'll burn some MP on this fight. And at the end you'll win some fresh gear for May. Now I need to mention something really cool about this area. EVERYTHING in here is "procedural." When you're fishing, the list includes every fish in the game. When you're farming for herbs, they always regrow in the same spot but you never know what kind of herb will grow back next time. When you open a treasure chest, get into a monster battle and it will RESPAWN with new contents. So this place is great for collecting a bunch of potions and such without spending any money on them. Just do a few laps of farming herbs and fishing, then grab the treasure chest, then fight monsters to respawn the chest. Anyways... head east across the bridge where you fought the witch-spider. From here onward it's a teleport maze. There are piles of money hidden in weird places, mostly at the dead-ends. The goal is to reach the giant tree beside the glowing platform at the north end of the maze. Then you get your reward. Head through the glowing teleport, cross the bridge, head north a bit then take the west path to exit the area. Head back up north to the save point, save your game, and then you're done here.

Back on the world map, keep heading east. There is an island marked "Torim" & "Broka" and you need to hit the south end of that island and go through Mount Broka to reach Torim. We haven't been here before. This place is LOADED with treasure chests, and most of them contain pretty nice equipment for your team. So check every corner of the map before you leave. You'll also find a side quest, this guy wants you to come back at the end of the game after you've finished all the other quests. At some point you'll run across a pair of "old friends" who want you to escort them to Torim, for which the exit is on the far northeast corner of the area.

In the village, you'll meet another alien. This one has friends but the Soulless (now known as the "Chaos Faction") have kidnapped them. The west side of town has the usual shops, except the potion shop and fish shop are both closed due to the invasion. Remember to stop at the tavern and buy a drink while you're here! Then head east. Anytime you see a cage, you'll have to fight some soulless to free the alien bird-men. When they're all done, return to the save point, talk to the original bird-man to complete the quest, and then save your game. Now the potion shop and fish shop will reopen, and a few people will be wandering around town. And... unless you want to do some shopping, cooking, or inventing, you're done here. Head back through the mountain to the world map, and ride the ocean eastward, off the map, to the Orn continent. Swim over to Farlight village, visit the tavern and have a drink there. Then swim over to Bloodcyrdle, have a drink at their tavern (north side of the City Center). Also, the pet shop sells a new skin for your water mount if you want it.

Now leave, head to the Murn continent, and stop by the oasis at Ravendor. If you enter the north side, just walk a bit north and find the save point. If you enter the south side, feel free to do some fishing at the oasis first, then go west to the next area to find the save point. SAVE YOUR GAME. Then talk to the guy with the green "!" to start the quest. The aliens stole his liquor barrels, get them back! Sometimes you'll have to fight some Arridan aliens first. Two of them are just a bit north of where you're standing. Then take the path south, there's a barrel at the end of the path. Turn west and there's one in the open and another one guarded by a sand krokoken. Then go east, find another barrel behind a giant skull. Go north, there's one inside the shipwreck and two more just east of it. The final barrel is along a rock wall a little farther east. Bring them back to turn in the quest. Then SAVE YOUR GAME. Then follow Jack Shallow east to the next zone. He's waiting over by the other oasis there. After the cut scene, just catch a few fish and then talk to him again. That's all for this place.
12.2 - And End at Vulca
Head off the edge of the world map, back to Keos. This time, take a short break and go to the taverns in Portburgh and Fortuga. Have a drink at both. Save your game, and swim east to Vulca. You'll have to land northwest of the Vulca ruins and walk around to reach them, but it's fine. Along the way, fight all the golems and elementals because:
  • You need the Telluric Current items they drop for your Inventing
  • You need the Quest Items they drop to go through Polaris
Once you're in the Vulca ruins, kill more monsters for their Telluric Current items. Head north to the save point, save your game again, and talk to the guy with the green "!" now. He wants magic gems from the ICE monsters around Polaris now. Ugh. More back-tracking. Well, before you leave, if you clear the monsters out this place is great for farming the blue flowers and gold/copper ores if you need any of those. Now you might be thinking "I'll just sail south off the map and go to Orn, there are ice monsters there and it's a shorter trip than Polaris." Well... you're right... but those ones don't drop the magic gems that you need. So you actually do need to swim all the way back to the area around Polaris. Since we're headed that way anyway, we might as well clear the quest in Polaris next.

Head into Polaris, and go west to find the man with the green "!" over his head. Give him the magic gems he asked for. Then you'll have to buy his magical ring of cold protection, but you only need one for the whole team and you don't actually need to equip it. Head west to the next area. In the southeast part of this place, you'll find the cutest thing ever - a pure white biffler standing on a cart. Pick him up, hug him and pet him, and take him home with you. Keep heading south to find two treasure chests that both have some VERY NICE potions, and a vein of manarite ore. There are also several veins of rosapphyre ore around the entire area. In the center you'll find a fishing spot, a save point, and another treasure chest. Save your game and then head north into the palace doors. The left and right rooms each have a treasure chest containing a nice new weapon. The back door leads to the Life Source Lys's bedroom, you can talk to her. Then head out again, the exit to the next area is in the southwest corner of the snowy field outside.

In this area, the southern side has a bunch of treasure, but be careful if you're spam-clicking for hidden coins because the southwest corner has an exit to the world map LOL. The western wall has the space gate thing, and a cut scene. You spend 4000 coins and the game lets you know it in GREAT BIG LETTERS. Only to have the guy say "the answer, my friend, is blowin in the wind. the answer is blowin in the wind." So you need to find the three magical songs on sheet music pages. Oh, look, one of them is sparkling on the snow just a few feet away by that giant mining hole. Go get it! Just north of that is a side quest, this guy wants FIVE gems that are scattered around Polaris. Okay, cool. Now that you've spoken to him the gems will actually appear. The first one (green) is just south of that weird chaos gate thing. Keep going south to find a blue gem AND a song page in between a group of four frozen stalagmites. There's a yellow stone on the south wall at the end of the area, and if you walk north from the eastern igloo you'll find a purple stone mixed in with some frozen stalagmites. The final stone and song page are due east from the guy who gave you the side quest, less than 100 feet away!! What a lazybones, he couldn't be bothered to go get his own gems? LOL. There's also a chest north of that which has a nice ring in it. Give the gems to the guy, and he'll join your guild. Then go back to the other guy and ask about the songs. Now you have to play the music by picking the sheet music in the right order: center, right, left, center. Certain wrong combinations just make them do a little dance. And other wrong combinations make them attack you; the fight only gives you 1000 XP though so it's not worth it. You're done here, head to the exit in the southwest corner, and then it's time for another long swim.

Back at Vulca... talk to the man near the save point to buy a ring that protects you from heat. You don't need to equip it, and you only need to buy one. Then head up the ramp. In the next area, go east first. There you'll find Kamigawa for the third time, and he'll join your guild now. Then head around to the south, picking up all the treasure and hidden gold as you go, until you reach the next area. Go around the path to the north first, there's a treasure chest with a really nice ring there. You'll meet an alien who asks you to defeat a dragon so they can move into the abandoned town behind it. Then head south... in the southeastern corner is a MASSIVE dragon you have to kill. BOSS FIGHT!! It's immune to stun and blind, and as a SPECIAL action you can call the alien to cast SHIELD on your whole team. After the fight, you get some nice new gear for Drek. Then you can keep going southeast into the village of Fyrebrand. In the southwestern corner is a little flaming biffler pet you can pick up. There's also a lot of money buried in the scenery, and a treasure chest. When you're done, the southeastern exit leads back to the world map.

PETS
draconic biffler (fyrebrand village, SW corner)
snow biffler (Polaris, in a cart in front of the palace)

Return to Torith, and save your game. As you head through the city you'll see a lady by the fountain who has a side quest, she wants some magical dancing shoes. go north, and then east, to the herb shop. There's a man there that runs a gambling game where you pick a chest for 2500 coins and you either lose everything, win the jackpot, or lose half your money. He has the shoes, you have to win them from him. Once you do, bring the shoes back to the lady. Now you have 25 guild members... time for another HQ upgrade. You'll need 50,000 credits to pay for it though. Put the story quest on the back burner for now and hoof it back to the Guild Hall. You unlock the GUILD VAULT on the right side of the room!! Nice. The next unlock will be at 40 members, so let's get back out there! Find ANY TAVERN and have five drinks in a row. Now that we have the music from Polaris, we can finish the sidequest in the Biffler Glade, and that lady joins your guild so now it's up to 26 members. Turn your music up, this is a one-time thing. Now you're done with that, go back to Torith. Maybe buy some new skins for your mounts at the pet shop if you have any money left. Then head north and report back to Lord Moneybags in the mansion. Next he'll send you to the continent of Syrial, back to the Greenwood there.
13 - Are you arachnophobic?
As you head towards the town gate, you'll find another side quest. This guy wants a bunch of herbs, and it is a long list. You might actually have them all on you though, if not just remember to come back later. Finish his quest and you'll get a 20% discount when you shop here from now on. Just with him, not like the whole town. He sells various cures, antidotes, and potions. Before you go, see how high you can get your cooking and inventing job levels. No rush, but you might as well... since you have the crafting stations right here. I had my cooking to 100 but my inventing was still only 87 when I left town. Save your game, assuming you're all done shopping in town, and head out.

Swim off the map and head for Syrial. You want the forest entrance. Head to the THIRD area of the forest, where USUALLY there is a dead end to the left and the Highland Plains are to the right, go left. You'll see a man standing in the dead end. He'll sell you a vial of "ozone gas from the mother planet" for 8000 coins which causes a mysterious door to appear. Head inside, there's a treasure chest in the southeast corner, then listen to what the spirit by the save point has to say. Save your game, and continue on.

OHMYGODSPIDERS, SPIDERS EVERYWHERE! KILL IT!!! KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
WHERE ARE THOSE MAGIC DANCING SHOES WE GOT A WHILE AGO, I'M GONNA DANCE ALL OVER THESE THINGS' UGLY FACES.
OHGODOHGODOHGOD, THEY'RE IN MY HAIR!!!
... help... me...
... I peed myself.

LOL. Okay enough silliness, let's move on.

At this point, I want you to go back and read chapter 0 of this guide again. My game crashed SEVENTY THREE TIMES while I was trying to complete these TWO MEASLEY SCREENS and farm a bunch of resources here. No joke, this area is VERY unstable and I have no idea why. So literally EVERY time you do a lap through here, every time you capture a baby spider, every time you kill a spider queen... go back through the portal and save your game or you risk having the game crash and then you have to repeat this entire frikkin' section of the game again.

The little spiders can be caught as a pet... if you're into that sort of thing. Just don't put it under your sister's pillow or she might actually murder you in your sleep later. The big one can't. Behind the big one is one piece of "magical fruit" that you need. Also, feel free to stay here and farm for an hour or so because there's Arturis Charmbloom (since we're on planet Arturis right now) and Ethernite EVERYWHERE. This is why we wanted our Mining and Herbalist jobs up to 100 before coming here. So... catch a "baby" spider, kill the mama spider, mine a bunch of eternite ore, grab the fruit behind the big spider. and then head west. Same thing again there. BUT before you kill the giant spider in the second area, go to the northwest corner and pickup the cute pink biffler pet that is hiding behind some tree roots.

One thing that REALLY annoys me is the baby spiders have a reduced capture chance (5% - 10%) and I blew through 63 pokeballs before I finally caught one without it dying from bleed or burn damage. MOST EXPENSIVE CAPTURE OF THE GAME, at 500 coins per pokeball. 31500 coins to be exact. The RNG gods did not favor me this time. And there are TWO VARIETIES of them so you need to catch it twice - one gold and one purple. So if you have ANY pokeballs left after catching both of them, you should go back through the portal and save your game immediately.

Another thing I hate is that we're still locked at level 70 and these spiders give a ton of XP... which is all going to waste once you max out your OP-XP level. Curse those PVP maniacs blocking the door to the Tower!! Sigh. Oh well, at least they also give a lot of money when they die.

One thing I LOVE about this place is the big spiders respawn if you leave the area and return, and they give you 11,000 coins (and 11,000 XP, and a couple of expensive items) for each kill. So if you want a gold farm to pay for all those new mount skins in the pet shop... this is it. Just remember to save often.

PETS
Arachnosaurling (GOLD baby spider, first zone)
Arachnosaurling (PURPLE baby spider, second zone)
Horned Shiny Biffler (NW corner of the second zone, behind a tree root)

Aaanyway... enough playing with spiders. I recommend you farm a couple hundred ethernite ores and arturis charmbloom herbs before you leave. They'll come in handy for crafting items and getting your cooking & inventing job levels to 100. Or you can always just sell them someplace. An NPC once said that ethernite - when refined into ethernium - is the most expensive thing on the planet. I guess we'll find out if that's true when we get back to civilization. (Hint: it only sells for a few hundred coins.)

...IF we ever get there. My game crashed 167,835,202 times in Arturis. I hope they fixed this bug by the time you're playing the game. But until they FIX THIS BUG, that is the end of the game, at least it is for me.
EDIT: The December 2024 patch FIXED THESE CRASHES!! So I was able to finish the area and do some more gold farming without getting frustrated enough to toss my PC out the window!

When you return through the portal to Syrial with both fruits in your backpack, an NPC meets you there and marks the locations of the Life Source and the Death Source on your map.

14 - Even MORE side quests
As you exit the spider-infested dungeon, follow the obvious path back through the forest until you come to an intersection. Go NORTH. In the next area, go east through the small Order camp and then go NORTHEAST to the next area where there is another small Order camp on a ledge. There is a gentleman there named Kohlrabies who has a side quest - he wants you to find his friend's name on one of the memorial stones scattered around the world. His friend's name is "TheToad" and the memorial stone you want is located on the west coast of the Orn continent, just west from the Order faction's capitol city. While you're there... go to the Bloodcyrdle Upper District and pick up another member for free, standing in front of the university. Southeast of that you'll find a man named Realtis, who should finish up another side quest. Also stop by the inn and buy a drink here. And check the pet shop, buy any pets you're still missing. Then return to Syrial's highland plains and the guy standing by the monument stone will join your guild.

In order to buy ALL of the mounts (not including regular pets), it will cost you 1,300,000 coin. But you probably already bought some of them. You could earn that much by farming the giant spider enemies and killing them 100 times and then sell the weapons and armor they drop... or you could just worry about it later. Your choice. For reference I had 250,000 in my bank when I left Syrial... I decided to have a bit of a nest egg built up but then I'll worry about the rest later. The gear the giant spiders drop is worth between 1500 - 2500 coin each, too.

We're going to go finish a few side quests before we continue! Here's a step by step plan:
  • Starting in the Keos continent, and with the Empire faction (the one based in Bloodcyrdle city)...
  • Go to Fortuga. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store.
  • Go to Portburgh. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store.
  • Go to Spindlegrist. Have a drink at the inn.
  • Go to Broka/Torim. Have a drink at the inn, check the pet store.
  • At the southeast corner of town you'll meet Nalevia, who asks you to challenge a boss monster. Say yes! It's King Squonk, the royal rollahog world boss!! He's immune to weakness and stun, and you can't capture him. Nalevia SAID she would help heal you during the fight, but that was a lie.
After the fight, Nalevia joins your guild.
  • At the east edge of town, you'll meet Nath who will join your guild.
  • Go to Farsight village on the Orn continent. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store.
  • Go to Bloodcyrdle city on the Orn continent. Change your faction (to the Coalition) so you can enter the city. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store. Get a signature from the PLAYER (not NPC) at the arena there.
  • Go to Centralis. Change your faction (to Empire) so you can enter the city. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store. Get a signature from the PLAYER (not NPC) at the arena there.
  • Outside the ring shop and fish shop, you'll find GeekNemisis, who previously asked you to bring him some crafting materials. Since you should have them all with you, he'll join your guild now.
  • East past the inn you'll find Cedric42, who challenges you to a game of rock-paper-scissors. You can only beat him by talking to him 42 times. But then he joins your guild.
  • Go to the mine at LaMoinne and give the lady there the amulet she asked for AGES AGO if you haven't done that yet. It's worth about 1000 coins, that's all.
  • Head to the Tower, on the path leading up to it you'll meet Defthunder who will join your guild.
  • Go to the Syrial continent, the city of Dunkil; you can take a fast-travel ship from the port at Centralis, or swim over. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store.
  • Outside the ore shop you'll meet Eldenking/Neosigil. Give him three chunks of the Ethernium Ore you got from Arturis and he'll join your guild.
  • At the exit of Dunkil, pay the guard to make you factionless again.
  • Still on the Syrial continent, head north to the city of Galaya. Change your faction (to the Order) so you can enter the city. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store. Head to the arena and get a signature from the PLAYER (not NPC) there.
  • In the Syril forest, in the middle area next to the giant tree roots, you'll meet BandAid and Malaxia. They are trying to find a new pet. You should help them...
  • Head west from there, past the statue in a pond, to the old palace, the one where you first found the captured princess. In front of the gate you'll meet Baelstorm, who will join your guild later. First you need to complete ALL the quests for the Order faction. So we'll be back for him later, but talk to him now to add him to your quest list.
  • Go south down the hill. The two pets you're looking for should be in that area, near the southeast corner. NEW PET: Striped Pookey!
  • North of the town entrance, you'll find Antonia. She will join your guild.
  • North of Antonia, you'll meet Dragonsayen, who is looking for his "crush" Tanid.
  • As you exit the city, pay the guard to be factionless again.
  • Back on Keos continent, go to Torith city. Have a drink at the inn, and check the pet store. Get a signature from the PLAYER (not NPC) at the arena there.
  • While you're here, there are three deposits of Manarite, each one gives 2 ore if your mining is at level 100.
  • Go to your guild. The gentleman near the door wants his manaball player autographs, then he joins your guild.
  • Now head to Portburgh. Tanid is in the Northwestern part of the city. Talk to her, and Dragonsayen shows up. Sadly, the armor you're already wearing is better than the reward for this.
  • Back to Orn continent, Bloodcyrdle city, and change your faction back to the Coalition. And you're done here for now.
  • Head back to Torith to save your game.

You should now have 37 members in your guild. Three more for the next guild upgrade level!

And you got a NEW PET, the striped pookey. Nice.

Striped Pookey - Syrial Forest during BandAid's quest

If you're like me then your inventing level is somewhere around 70 - 75 right now. Do you want to increase it now, or wait a while longer? To bring it up further, you'll need a few HUNDRED of the Telluric Charge items that are dropped by elementals and golems. It doesn't matter which ones you want to fight, all of the golems and elementals will drop these items. The southwest corner of Syrial has some earth golems and earth elementals. Orn has ice golems and ice elementals. Or you can head back to the volcano to fight the fire golems and fire elementals. You'll also need a whole lot of platinum, titanium, and gold to make the "X" tier items which are the only ones that give you enough crafting experience to get up past inventing level 70. Remember, crafting is optional in this game so this isn't strictly necessary; you can skip it if you want to.
If you're going to do it, the ice golems and elementals near Torith and Polaris ALSO give over 1000 coins each when they die. And Polaris is our next destination anyway. Just sayin.
15 - Life...
(This section is still under construction.)

When you're done killing golems and elementals, spend some time at your inventing station and see how high you can get your level. Remember, THIS IS OPTIONAL so skip it if you just don't want to do it, or you can do it later. But for all intents and purposes, from now on I'll be assuming you got your inventing up to level 100 now. Same for your cooking skill.

Our next stop is to restore the power of the Life Source, and then the Death Source. We'll do the Life Source first since we already know where she lives. She's in Polaris, inside the big temple on the north end of the area. So when you're ready, head that way.

Oh look, more side quests... in Polaris.
  1. At the southeast corner of the region, near an igloo, you'll meet Haoro who asks you to find some legendary crystal arrows for his bow. But it's guarded by a scary ghost.
  2. West of him, by the next igloo, is Rytlock Grimstone (a.k.a. Argnote) who will join your guild after you kill 10 ice golems for him. Remember to keep track of them as you go.
  3. Go west to the next area. The samurai ghost near the temple entrance has the crystal arrows for Haoro. Kill it and take them.
  4. Keep going west. In the next area, all the way along the western wall, you'll meet YellowRoach. He's looking for an axe held by a "Soulless" enemy.
  5. Head east two more screens. Somewhere in this area you'll find the "Axe-Wielding Soulless." Kill it and take its axe.
  6. Head south to the igloos and turn in the two quests you had there. One more guild member, that's 38.
  7. Head west to the next area, save your game, and walk up to the temple stairs... oh no! Tabris shows up for a boss fight! Don't hold back, pummel this guy until he leaves.
  8. Go up the stairs and into the temple. Give the fruit to the Life Source.
  9. Head west to the next area and go sell the soulless's axe to YellowRoach so he joins your guild. That makes 39 guild members. One more for the next guild upgrade.

Now you can farm for more items here... or we can move on. I'm thinking we move on now. So head out of Polaris. Go back to Vulca (the volcano to the southwest corner of Keos).
After roaming for a bit, you'll find Lisiana (on the west edge of the second area). She's lost and will join your guild if you escort her off of this volcano. But don't leave yet... in the beginning of the third area you'll see Ash the Chinese farmer chilling with some guy who will immediately join your guild. That's 41 members (after you help Lisiana)! Enough for the next guild upgrade! Except... well... the admins ban you for life for talking with Ash about "real-money trading" which is a form of cheating. (Fortunately it doesn't last long, you'll be reinstated soon!)

Keep going deeper into Vulca... near the old village entrance you'll meet Shadowmarco. He needs help reaching the other side of the village. Seriously, there's ONE enemy and then take three steps and he's there. What a wimp! Go drop him off in the middle of the village and he joins your guild (42). Just ahead you meet Carabantho who will join your guild, too (43). Then you can drop Lisiana at the exit on the other end of Firegulch village and she'll officially join your guild.

Now, one more stop before we head for the Death Source's hideout... go back to your guild and pay the fee of 150,000 coin to upgrade it. This opens a new room on the west side that has a little farm, a fishing hole, and a tiny mine. Remember to check your GUILD VAULT on the right side pretty often, too, since your guild members will leave items in there for you to use from time to time. The next upgrade will be at 60 members (17 more to go). Walk around to the back of the guild building, where you can see the Noob hero statues. Go through the door there. There's a weird "smourbiff" (a.k.a. "biffler) hanging around inside. Grab it! Oh... wait... it's not a pet. It's a PLAYER who got hacked! Meet Dartelic. Take a moment to help him out and he'll join your guild (that's 44).
16 - ... and Death
It's time to explore a new continent!! Swim away from Keos, and head to the southern continent of Tenebros. At first glance, it seems small and straightforward. And, to be honest, it is. It's divided inot three segments that you can walk on. All three sections have a few flowers you can pick, and a couple of fishing spots, and some ore deposits, but you've seen all that before. As far as new stuff...

The central section has "Soulless" enemies wandering the world map. These fights usually have 3 enemies each, and if you win you get over 7000 XP and over 4000 coins. And the fights aren't particularly hard since you're at level 70 now. Not bad.
Then the eastern section has sand krokokin (drops Reptile Scale) and some fish enemies (drops Effervescence).
The real treasure here is the western section, which has some Red Dragonnet enemies. These are TOUGH, they buff themselves too. There is real potential for a "TPK" here, so I'm going to remind you that May's special ability will not resurrect anyone, it only heals the living and puts a shield on them. But you can capture a red draggonet and make it your pet! However, like the other dragonnets it has a reduced chance to be captured (5-10%). And they're worth 14,000 XP (and around 2000 coins) EACH when they die... remember this for after you unlock your XP again. Sadly, right now all that XP is just going to waste.

But your target here is the town on the south side of the island, also named Tenebros. When you enter, you'll notice something is... a bit off... with this town. (Hint: "I see dead people.") Your destination is Death's tomb/palace at the north end of the western side of town... but there are TWO areas to explore before you head there: the west side of town where you first enter, and you can exit on the southeast corner to continue exploring the eastern side of town. The armor shop sells some UNIQUE armor that is slightly better than the level 60 gear you currently have. There are a bunch of hidden cash stashes all over the place. Also a bunch of treasure chests all over the town. The east side of town only has a fish stand, a fishing spot, and the ore shop. If you check the northwest corner inside the ore shop, you'll find a Silver Biffler pet. Make sure you buy a drink from the tavern, too, since we're still working on that side quest. And for some reason the jewelry store won't sell anything to you. Which is a shame since they have some nice stuff here.

When you approach the Death Source's hideout up north, you'll be met with a fight from a bunch of Soulless who tell you their master Salazar couldn't be bothered to show up in person this time, he's busy on another continent. It's an easy fight though, you can probably finish it before any of them even get a turn to attack you. Then head into the "palace." Grab a couple of chests in here with new gear, then go give the fruit to the Source of Death to revive his power, and he and the Source of Light can start working to seal up those strange portals all over the world that were letting weird alien monsters in.

And then... you log out, back to the "real world." You don't get a chance to DO anything there before you're back in the MMO though... but hey the good news is those PVP guys finally settled their beef and left the tower so you can get inside! Save your game and prepare for tower level 7, to unlock XP again for levels 71-80. It's just a straight-up boss fight this time, no maze of monsters to walk through or anything. You can use "Special" commands to summon the three heroes to aid you in battle... but they all suck. The two attackers are weaker than you, and Band-Aid will heal EVERYONE on the battlefield - including the enemy. After the fight, you instantly levelup to 71 and get a nice new weapon for Logs.

Now the story WANTS us to go close out the chapter, but if we hit level 80 we can use FLYING mounts!! So I'm headed back to Tenebros continent to fight some Red Dragonnet monsters for the XP! See you on the other side of level 80.
JUST KIDDING!! Let's do this the EASY way. (But save your game first.) Use the teleporter just outside the tower with the RED flags, on the west side of the trail. It takes you straight back to Bloodcyrdle. We'll levelup later, after we do this thing. It's perfect anyway since we need to be in the throne room to finish the chapter. I won't spoil the event for you... just enjoy it. Then you have to wipe out four groups of enemies at the Bloodcyrdle castle. Step near the teleporter, and... job done. You should have just leveled up FOUR times in just five fights, which is why I didn't bother going to kill dragonnets in Tenebros yet.

Then you can head back to your guild HQ and ask Spectre what's next for his grand plan. He'll tell you to convert to the Empire and head to their capitol city to talk with the emperor next.

... But this guide is already too long, so you'll have to CLICK HERE FOR PART THREE of this Noob: The Factionless walkthrough guide to see how it all ends!! See you soon.
