Mori Calliope

The Grim Reaper's apprentice, Mori Calliope from Holomyth makes it to Rivals of Aether as a playable character. She has a variety of scythe and musical attacks that can keep the opponent off guard and can put enemies in a state where it makes it easier for her to combo.




Gimmick:
Calli's moveset consists of several musical attacks that apply a status effect called Death's Encore. During this state, any additional hits done to opponents applied will build up encore notes (up to 8). If another musical attack hits an opponent in the death's encore state, all of the encore notes built up will trigger a multi-hit attack into a finisher that sends up. The amount of multi-hits depends on the current amount of encore notes.

Nspecial:
Calli will enter a float state where she will wind up a strong scythe attack that sends opponents flying upwards. She can hold this attack to keep floating, and increase the attack's strength the longer she charges it.

Fspecial (Coffin):
A summon attack that spawns a coffin onto the stage. This coffin periodically spawns a deadbeat that will patrol around the stage. If the deadbeat runs into an opponent, they will swing their bat to attack. If a musical attack overlaps with a deadbeat, they will become enhanced and swing glowsticks frantically until they run off the stage. This glowstick attack also applies the Death's Encore state.

Fspecial (Dash):
If a coffin is already on the stage, Calli will instead do a quick dash. This can be used as a quick movement tool or recovery option. If she dashes into the coffin however, she will suddenly ride the coffin and attack the opponent. When she lands in this state, the coffin will be destroyed.

Uspecial:
A simple teleport recovery as Calli vanishes into thin air only to come back at a different spot. If the special button is held while coffin is out, Calli will instead teleport to the coffin and break it with a music attack.

Dspecial:
A quick blast around her that applies the Death's Encore state. Normally, only the center hit will knock opponents away. The outer range applies the status but is polite, meaning it only applies knockback to opponents already in hitstun.
