Good Samaritan: Rewards for helping teammates

Have you ever been stuck with a team that doesn't care about you? You heal them, help them up when they're knocked down, and save them from being pinned, yet they never thank you for it. Worse still, they never even think about returning the favour, and will leave you for dead without thinking twice.

With Good Samaritan, your teammates will be fighting to be first in line to heal you! Good Samaritan rewards players with bonus health for performing actions that help their teammates, such as using medkits or defibs on them, helping them when they're incapped, killing a special infected that has them pinned, or protecting them from a nearby common infected. A chat notification will be displayed when a bonus is awarded, letting all players know that they can be rewarded for being a good team player.

The bonuses are designed to reward cooperation without making the game trivial. A team that helps each other frequently can progress through the campaign faster due to the adrenaline boosts and extra health, but permanent health is only awarded in cases where supplies are expended (such as a medkit or defib); it is still a net loss of health, but slightly less so than in vanilla gameplay.

Using a defib or medkit - permanent health bonus

Helping up an incapped teammate - major temporary health bonus

Saving a teammate from a pinning special - minor temporary health bonus

Protecting a teammate from a common infected - short adrenaline boost

Rescuing a survivor from a closet - Restoration bonus: short adrenaline boost, minor permanent and temporary health bonuses


Known bugs
- Survivors may occasionally be overhealed above their normal health limit
- Rewards may be given inconsistently if multiple chargers are present (will only be an issue in certain mutations or survival mode)
