Quake SoA: Command HQ

描述
A port of the difficulty selection map from Scourge of Armagon, the first expansion to Quake.

This addon contains two maps: gm_quake_hipstart and dm_quake_hipstart. the former is a sandbox map patterned after the singleplayer version of the map, while the latter is based on the multiplayer version and contains working weapon and powerup spawns using Upset and Matsilagi's Quake sweps. Map is also fully noded if you want to use it with NPC's.
Do note that player height in the Source engine is greater than in the Quake engine, so it won't feel quite the same as before.

I originally started this map some 8 years ago, but have only recently managed to complete it. I decompiled the original map and manually rebuilt the entire geometry. Unfortunately I cannot remember what tool I used to decompile it, as BSP2MAP did not produce the results I got back then.

Sadly neither the lighting nor the sounds were quite as accurate as I would like them to be due to engine issues. If you have any idea how to solve either one, please tell me.

UPDATE:

Added missing ambient sounds. If anyone knows how to fix the bug where your game just doesn't play ambient sounds, do tell me.

as far as i remember, quake 3 gmod supports quake 1 entities, the same as my serious sam map ports do have support for q3gm, so i'm happy to see new deathmatch maps being made

I am currently working on base game Quake maps. I wanted to do more expansion maps, but I can't until I find a solution to the decompiling issue.

if you are not planning on making more maps, maybe consider implementing the map content into .bsp

@wico. Honestly I cant even do more expansion maps at this time, since I don remember how I decompiled this one.
