Mod Version: 1.1.0
For CK3 Version: 1.16.* (Khans of the Steppe)



I find it strange that nobody seems to speak Latin, not even the Pope himself, despite Latin being the language of the clergy. To amend this I have created this mod which triggers a hidden event to teach Latin to members of the Catholic clergy. The event checks every year so please wait an in game year to ensure the event has triggered, this will keep rolling each year to cover new clergy characters.

Here are the default criteria:
- Is a member of the clergy (Monk, Nun, Realm Priest, Landed Theocratic Ruler)
- Is an Adult
- Is Catholic
- Has 9 or higher Learning
- Does not already know Latin
- Does not have any of the following traits: Cynical, Lazy, Imbecile, Stupid, Slow

(The criteria above can now be tweaked with game rules)



- Include more Christian faiths, research needed to find appropriate candidates (if you have any insight please let me know).
- Add event/decision to learn Latin from your Realm Priest.
- Add decision to make Latin your Court Language.



This mod should be widely compatible, please report any compatibility issues below and I will review.

hey uh, quick question. i use this mod with the catholic trinity, and was wondering if the previously mentioned mod already does this. aye or nay?

Yes, this is absolutely on the road map. I plan to add a decision to make Latin your court language, player will be able to take this and AI theocratic rulers will be weighted to be more likely to take this, the Pope being extremely likely to. I hope to find some time to continue development soon! Thank you for the interest and suggestion :proposal:

Thank you for developing this mod, I look forward to your updates. Would you be amenable to the idea of setting the Pope's language to Latin so that we can learn it as a foreign ruler? I do not know if the Vatican has a court like kings and emperors do, but historically, the Vatican maintained the use of Latin long after the fall of the Roman empire and wasn't replaced with Italian until the modern era.

Greeting! A great mod, but the old Chinese tran was out of time, so I‘ve retranslated the new Chinese loc inside CK3 mod Chinese loc mod, btw, will there be other mythical artifacts in the future?
