Description:
Sail between the teal-blue waters and marble-clad cityscapes of Mykonos, the crown jewel of the Greek Isles. Based on a scrapped layout for Marina Rush, this challenging track brings the AGL to the Aegean Sea's premier tourist destination.

Development:
I started playing BNG in version 1.1.5, when the last beta version of Marina Rush (0.9) was still in the game. While I did like the final version (1.2.0) better, I kind of missed the unique vibe of the old one, and wanted to bring it back to the game. Mykonos IX is a re-imagining of the 0.9 version of Marina Rush, with a very similar (albeit somewhat easier) layout and scene. To add some uniqueness, I moved the locale to Greece, and adjusted the color scheme to match the country flag. The designs of the first and last bridges are copied from the original, but I felt that the second bridge was ugly and needed to be reworked, which resulted in the light-up spiral shape seen in this version. I also implemented some small Greek columns on either side of the track as you pass under the building after the first bridge. The big hologram about half way through the lap is reverse-engineered directly from the Unity scene of the original track. The Hotel Petros sign is a replacement for the Civic Center sign from the original, a new version of which is actually present on the current version of Marina Rush. The name Hotel Petros comes from Petros the Pelican, a real pelican that lived on the island of Mykonos. He even has a Wikipedia page.
