Description:
Once a crumbling industrial zone, Bangkok's Samrong district has been revitalized into a vibrant commercial and cultural center. This short but tricky circuit runs back and forth across the Chao Phraya river, giving great views of the local cargo traffic and passing the temple grounds on the western bank.

Development:
After completing the official tracks Atacama, Alice Mountain, and Forgotten Coast, I spent a year working on other projects before returning to custom track development in 2024. Samrong Crossing is something of a successor to Samrong Junction, the third track I ever made for BNG. I took the locale and general layout shape of Samrong Junction, and discarded everything else. Rather than the dimly lit abandoned factory of the previous iteration, I wanted to make something bright and vibrant, using the Chao Phraya river as the centerpiece. I took inspiration from Wipeout Pure, Marina Rush, and real-world Bangkok. The suspension bridge on the first straightaway is inspired by the work of another custom track creator, Basil. The temple is loosely based on the real-world Wat Arun temple in Bangkok, the boats are taken from Marina Rush, and the hovercraft holding up the second bridge are taken from Ishtar Citadel.
