Toei 330 Series / 東京都交通局330形

The 330 Series (330形) is an AGT vehicle operated by Toei on the Nippori-Toneri Liner.

This type was introduced in 2015 to increase the number of services in response to rising congestion levels on the Nippori-Toneri Liner. It is constructed with an aluminium alloy body, reducing the weight of each 5-car formation by around 7.5 tonnes. To improve boarding efficiency, each car has 2 double doors per side located on outside of the main body, allowing the walls to be thinner. The 330 series’ lower empty weight allowed for a higher number of passengers to board without raising concerns about excessive weight, therefore the interior is fitted entirely with long seats, increasing standing capacity significantly compared to the 300 series. A single set was built in 2015 followed by two addition trains in 2019, these were used to increase service frequency during peak hours. In 2022, Toei announced plans to produce an additional 12 sets to replace 300 series vehicles operating since the line’s opening, 10 of these have been completed to date. Therefore, the total number of vehicles is 65 cars, with another 10 on order.
