I always felt it was an oversight to not have the Young Dragons and Adult Dragons be treated as animals. Horned God gets to be a Plant and a Fey. Reaper gets to be Undead and Ethereal. Wyverns and Slithers are Dragon and animal.

As such, Young Dragon, Adult Dragons, and Dragon Lord are all now treated as animals.

This DOES work on modded dragons

This DOES NOT affect the Dragonic Transformation (still only dragons)

I feel like dragons in Age of Wonders are their own beast (no pun intended). They appear like animals, yes, but they stand above all other animals as far as humans do. Dragon Lords even have language.

I do understand the logic, though, so the mod is welcome.

I mean tbh, dragons are definitely getting further and further powercrept anyways, so only having slightly high maintenance is fair anyways. Getting animal trait is otherwise helping with parity, as you point out in the description.

It really is just the Prosperity and Calamity dragons that worry me. They ARE already good. Kinda surprising they were not HM in the first place.

It crossed my mind, but after playing it, I find it to be of no balancing concern to be worth the effort, especially when there are many other ways to reduce their upkeep anyways.

Just really trying to go through a series of tomes that makes sense for a Gold Dragon nature/order run... and even with mods, and the expansion of that theme through WW, there STILL is a big gaping hole past Tome of Prosperity, one that would be filled if Vigor and Beasts was useful for Dragons. So I guess time to get this mod!

I do have to ask, however... do you feel it is appropriate that they get their High Maintenance reduced by Animal? And that Prosperity/Calamity are cheaper? Is there any way you can counter that part?

is there any chance you consider having it affect the dragonic transformation? Is it because of balancing concerns, i can see that dragonian + empowered beast giving both 20% damage and natural regen would be a bit overtuned. But the base game transformation feels a little underwhelming especially compared to other major transformation. Maybe you could make it that empowered beasts does not affect cultural unit? Thanks for the mods either way!!
