Lore
To the most destitute of Pertamites, salvation came only from the hope that they might find comfort in the next life. Spinning hopelessness into zeal, great warlords offered a heroic death and noble rebirth in the Punarmrityu, fanatics willing to guide explosives into their masters' enemies by their own hands.
With the introduction of transistors, and later integrated circuits, to Pertam, the Punarmrityu were steadily replaced within the ranks of the Court by swarms of automated missiles and drones. The Queen of the Wastes would eventually ban the practice in her realm, though conveniently not after secretly producing thousands of craft designed to easily mount explosive lances, should invaders ever encroach on calamitous victory.
