Nagasaki Electric Tramway 5000 Series / 長崎電気軌道5000形

The 5000 Series (5000形) is a tram type operated by Nagasaki Electric Tramway since 2011.

The second low floor tram to be owned by the company, the 3000 series is a three-car articulated vehicle belonging to Alna Car's "Little Dancer" series. It has one bogie each on cars A and B on each end, while the middle car has a floating body structure. The vehicle has a full length of 16.3 meters, which is 1.2 meters longer than the previous 3000 series. Capacity was increased but the number of seats is lowered by one. Typical of Japanese tram operators, introduction of the type was gradual, with two vehicles entering service in 2011 and 2012 respectively. The third and last tram of the type was only completed in 2019, this vehicle was the first in the company's fleet to feature LED destination displays, which was later retrofitted onto the other two units. Nagasaki Electric Tramway introduced the 6000 series in 2022, which confirmed that the company does not intend to order any additional 5000 series vehicles.
