Fay Folk's Performance+ Patch

描述
INTRODUCTION
Vanilla low-poly models for all units at distance and will offer the greatest performance, however, "pop-in" will be experienced on far away units where they shift too and from the vanilla low-poly model. An example of this would be brown great stag variants turning into the vanilla white stag at far away distances.

It's the most satisfying performance. The quality is not bad either.

@Logan

This mod simply uses vanilla models when zoomed out far and requires the main mod otherwise it does nothing.

The result in a pop in appearance as shown in the videos.

Can I use this mod without the main mod? If not, can you make a performance mod for vanilla?

@Economic Terrorist

You only need one of them, and they are both completely optional with respect to the main mod. The desired performance patch will default to the correct load order. If you end up subscribing to both patches at the same time, performance++ will take priority.

Do you need both performance patches or just one or the other?

@sigmars_disciple

I don't have a good way of quantifying performance, but I will add some screenshots of what it looks like when the low-poly assets are used. I simply put this together as my best attempt at allowing everyone to enjoy the mod.

Great idea!

I don't know, this might be way too much work, but "pictures tell more than xyz words" applies here, I think! Would it be possible to show the differences in "fidelity" in a screenshot at all?

Either that or maybe some kind of bench mark in (very rough estimated) % of performance increase when using this versus the other versions could also be very helpful

Of course, somebody from the community could also provide that info. It might actually be better evaluated by a player with a total potato PC (which I assume you don't have).... if you understand what I mean? <3
