MI9M1 Chappe

The MI9M1 Chappe is the designation for the base version of the family of light trucks. Khertland uses the base variant for a number of miscellaneous roles such as personal transport for officers, logistics and resupply, or to carry a fire team of four at the back. In total, the vehicle can seat six people including the driver. It is a small but nimble vehicle and gained increased prominence due to its use as a cable layer, mobile workshop and even a mobile command post. However the small nature of the vehicle meant the forward seating positions have very little leg room. The open air cab also exposed the crew to the elements making it not very well liked. But the army found itself in need of a light utility vehicle. previously the Stoat did most of this work but the lack of a proper truck bed made it somewhat limiting. And as far as comfort goes, the Stoat was not much better.
