With that in mind, it could be applied to more than just mobs or enemies, but you can also just go to the basics and keep it simple if you think it would help the game.
Also, when is this game based in? The past, or like modern day world or something?
Yeah the art style will be staying like this, i love pixel art and i havent got the lore down completely yet but i've got some good ideas on how to introduce the lore into the game

just make sure that the players know how to play your game
an ingame tutorial would be nice
also dont let the enemy push you around when they get close
i always find my self dead coz bats shoved my in the corner

coz its great
but this game needs a lot of tweeking before it gose on greenlight
