AFN - Yari Class Destroyer

The Yari class stands as a juxtaposition of old and new for the Ixians. The hull itself have seen little changes over the last eight-decades, yet, has become quite a ship of Theseus as high command continued to find a place for the Yari-class.

Often used for ambushes against lone Hyperion capitals, the Yari is a specialized ship for a specialized task: quick, unforgiving, and unfair fights. As power demands increased with new technologies and propulsion, so did it's other armaments (and mission profile for that matter) shrink.

To match their modern task, the Yari class comes equipped with state-of-the-art propulsion and fire-control, giving it superb maneuverability while maintaining weapons effectiveness, whether in a brawl or at extreme range.

The modern Yari Class which dominates the AFN excels in it's welcomed role as the skirmishing and ambushing arm of the navy, and their crews enjoy the many stories that go along with their daring assaults.
