The blind smoke clouds from spelopedes are the bane of my turret defenses, as they can't see them at all in the smoke. My lines of riflemen, snipers, grenadiers and machinegunners, however, can, and do shoot them to bits.
If the bugs have more bodies than you can spew bullets...
Well, that just sounds like a not-enough-dakka problem.
When there are only scarabs left, I generally console-kill them not because of the threat they pose, but because they ruin the insect meat I could get from bigger bugs, to make tons of crappy little bugs.
A mere dozen or so people with assault rifles and Run and Gun should be able to handle an infestation. Best mod ever to deal with prolonged battles is Adrenal Overload. It keeps the colonists "in the zone" and prevents them from throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of battle.
"Screw you all, I'm going to go punch the anti-grain warheads because I was hungry and in the dark for a few hours, despite the tremendous danger the bugs pose to us!"
None of that any more while they're drafted with hostiles on the map.
I feel like I've been given an early birthday gift.
Thanks man, I've missed Better Infestations and Insectoids Evolved so much!
I added a few abilities to a few new insects already, I expect I'll add more.
My only question is, do you intend to look at compatibility once Vanilla Insectoids 2 comes out, or is this just an as-is update?
