I think I know why the Gladius and the Shield are unable to work together, it due to the fact that the Gladius is for some reason, the "One-handed weapon" is set to No

Sorry for the late reply!

The Roman Equipment mod and this mod are designed to work completely separately, so unfortunately, I’m not sure what’s causing the issue with the shields and the gladius at the moment.

For CE, I plan to include compatibility in the next update, though I can’t promise a timeline.
