Auto tracking solar panel - No computer needed

描述
An inexpensive early solar panel array. Uses a sensor to track the sun as it moves overhead.

To align panel array towards the sun, use the built in shadow guide and numpad to set tower angle, preferably at sunrise or sunset.
This only needs to be set once, since the sun always moves in a straight line overhead from east to west.

Uses 12 solar panels, a battery and some basic gadgets. All stuff you can make early on.
Connect the battery to another battery bank as needed, and place more of this build if you want additional charging and storage

So if for example, you needed a 90-degree turn. 90 is 25% of 360. Put in 0.25 on the numpad and you'll get a hard 90-degree turn on it.

Did you try using a number between 0 and 1 on the numpad?
It's not based on a 360-degree count access, it's based on 0 - 1.

I have no idea how to make this work. The number pad does nothing at all. Video needed.

This is more precise than my method just eyeballing the alignment, then bumping into it with my rover for the "fine adjustments:

Updated to remove an extra solar sensor that didn't really help. Lowered and colored the shadow guide for ease of use.

If you want to simplify this blueprint and make an even more low cost version, remove the gadgets like numpad and extra solar sensor. Save that blueprint.
Then adjust the simpler build's angle by dragging it into position (towed by a car with flex cables).
