Edible Greenfruit

I made greenfruit, riceweed and cactus edible in my game and it's pretty cheap to use. You do not need btw worry about the npcs will eat greenfruit and other food. Simple solution is to make stackable for me 10 also add 15-20 nutrient value to it so your npcs will not eat a lot and just bits. Farming skill is good to improve the yield, also can be modified in the Fcs. I personally think changing few value, making more food variety also cooking is changed in my playtest to check if I can manage less material needed to make food. The next step is to add new kind of foods created from raw materials. New plants also could be added to the game to make it edible or no edible. So I did not tried your mod because I have my own but it is a simple thing to do.

How does the AI determine what food to eat? I always thought they went for higher nutrition first since things like food cubes and nutri-packs get eaten before dried meat- if I'm wrong that's fair but otherwise you just need to give your farmers something more substantial first.

I figured that would likely be an issue, I wouldn't say it's a particularly base friendly mod for veggie farms

Issues arise when your farmers eat the produce as soon as its harvested. Also when half your town is surrounding the newly edible ingredient box before your cooks can use them to cook with. Imagine if you made raw riceweed or wheatstraw edible. no more cooked food.
