Background:
Toxic Fallout has always been a difficult and complicated event to manage. I was surprised that there is nothing in the game which helps the player get through the fallout or have their colony run normally while the event is occurring. Vanilla Apparel Expanded has two great solutions to this (gas mask and hazard suit), but I was interested in doing a constant toxic fallout play-through and these items leave the pawn totally unprotected and without special patches the power armors don't protect the wearer from fallout either, making raids excessively dangerous. Even then it is expensive and complicated to reach the spacer tech stage and it makes the early game much much harder than the late game. I made this mod for myself, but decided to share it incase anyone else had this problem.


Content:
This mod adds two new belts to the game: The Geiger Belt and the Purification Matrix.

Geiger Belt: Small device which releases neutralizing compounds into the air around the wearer, making it safer to breath. It reduces a pawn's toxic sensitivity by 45%, allowing the wearer to walk around and complete tasks outside for a short period of time. However, as soon as it is equipped it will start to deteriorate at a constant rate as the device releases its stored compounds into the air. After ~50 days the device will run dry and fall apart.

Purification Matrix: An Archotech air purifier which makes the air around the wearer not only breathable, but cleaner and purer than normal air, granting total immunity to toxic fallout and buffing movement and work speed. This cannot be built and will only appear as a quest reward. Nobility will also consider it prestigious and wear it as a status symbol.


The mod also adds special research to build the Geiger Belt at the same tech level as the Shield Belt.

Compatibility:
Should be compatible with everything. It is meant to be played alongside Vanilla Apparel Expanded so that the player can use the Gas Mask and Hazard suit later in the game, both of which provide far better toxic protection.
