Quintessencia

描述
Quintessencia is a potion mod that allows you to construct potions during combat by using reagents found throughout a run and a little energy. It's designed for you to take some vague knowledge and jump in to learn yourself like a real alchemist, and has a number of config options to try and customize the experience!




Content


Quintessencia currently includes a base 45 Reagents split across 5 categories, and enables you to brew potions using any combination that includes 1 from each category. It also includes 7 relics and 1 easter egg relic related to potions or reagents.

The current release includes Console Commands to add or remove reagents (reagent add/lose [ReagentID] [#]) as well as some config options to:
  • Start with 2 potions worth of random reagents - Default TRUE
  • Allows Relics to spawn - Default TRUE
  • Cause Alchemize to create a random brewed potion - Default FALSE
  • Add an extra potion slot - Default FALSE
  • Unlink Reagens from combat card rewards - Default FALSE
  • Spawn Reagents instead of Colorless cards - Default TRUE




Disclaimer


Finally! I've been working on this almost since Skul's Together in Spire booster content was in development. I've gotten it cleaned up and stable functionally with no noteworthy bugs I found in testing, and gotten balance to a decent starting point, but this type of mod tends towards being a vortex of bugfixing, implementation fixing, and the like, so please report anything you find and bear with me while I clean up the bug catalogue for it to be as polished as I'd like it to be. I want to avoid a repeat of the mistakes that fed into last time as much as possible.

I say it every time, but this time more than ever I really really value your feedback! This kind of mod' typically a little bit of a bottomless hole in terms of fixing edge cases, so no matter how much I've tried to cover my bases it's almost a guarantee that there will be small issues here and there, bugs that crop up, edge cases I missed, and balance levers that need adjusting. If you find or feel anything is off, please give me a heads up so I can look into it and we can nudge that last mile! It might take me a bit to check and reply, but I am paying attention!

(was just thinking it could make for some interesting strategic choices, as well as having an option to collect both a card as well as reagents. (this mod is still cool, its just that collecting cards is one of my fav ways to play, as i like the variety and challenge it brings when mixing mods together and usually end up with decks of about 1000 cards minimum :o) for example here:

ooh such a cool sounding mod :o)

scavenging reagents in the example picture looked linked with a choice of Gaining 1 card OR getting reagents. i only just saw the mod on steam and have not had a chance to play yet but i was just wondering, if there is a way to randomise the link effect at all?

- for example, after 1 battle, the rewards screen could link New Card OR Reagents (as in your picture)
- but in another battle, it could link Gold OR Reagents (allowing you to gain a card as well as gaining reagents, at the cost of not gaining gold for that battle's reward)
- and in another battle, it could randomly link a reward Potion OR Reagents (so you can gain a card, gain some gold for the shop nearby, and reagents, but not a potion this time) :o)

Sorry for the mod's disappearing act. Apparently I need to find somewhere else for the credits, because Steam held the mod in review jail for 21 hours off a minor update. :/
