Description
Manacat's Witch mod, but with some differences and changes to my liking.

This is a "lite" version of my other Improved Witch AI mods. She doesn't get re-startled when shot while climbing or mauling a survivor. It's like the original mod by Manacat, but with a few changes, as seen below:

It lowers the "passing by" swipe attack radius from 70 to 45. Damage wise, those passing-by attacks now do 100 damage instead of 10. Do note those "passing-by" attack's damage only happen when she swings at her target with you in the way, or when she slashes at survivors blocking her path when she's retreating.

The Witch pushes survivors away while climbing everything, not just ladders. She can also push survivors when jumping across gaps, when a Wandering Witch is screaming (to prevent the cheap melee tactic of jumping behind her), and when playing the pre-retreat animation.

She now takes 1 hit to open the saferoom door instead of 3, and will break normal doors in 1 hit as well if realism mode or the Witch's instakill mechanic is activated.

The Witch instantly re-aggro's after killing a survivor with !witch kill. She no longer waits a second or two (looks around while retreating) before getting re-startled, making her more dangerous and responsive.

After killing a survivor with !witch kill, she can now go after incapacitated survivors. In the original mod she ignores incapacitated survivors and went for the nearest standing survivor.



This mod is unlisted as this isn't my work. I just edited a few values in Manacat's "Improved Witch AI" code to make her more deadly and responsive to my liking. I will make it public if Manacat is fine with it.

what did you use for 5k health, left for bots?

I tried the health display mod before, it shows the wrong health. I have 5K health for Witch but it shows 1000.

putting that in the convars.cfg doesn't seen to work even with all mods that change her healh disabled, it stays at 1000. I dindt expect to be such a pain in the ass to change witch health properly lol. The thing is, the damage display mod bugs out with a lot of mods that touch her health, so i cant even test properly, i need to guess with time to kill with an rifle

If you use Left 4 Bots 2, you can put z_witch_health 3000 in the convars.txt, located in Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\ems\left4bots2\cfg

oh, sadly i dont know any other mods that change her health to 2500/3000 besides the locked ones

I know the problem now.

Those "Witch X Health Locked" mods use a less than ideal function that sets her health to X value instead of changing her health via the default game's cvar "z_witch_health".

If the mod you're using to change her health doesn't change it via that cvar, then it's not gonna work. The locked mods do something like this: Ent(params.witchid).SetHealth(2500), hence why it doesn't work. Manacat coded it so it gets the value of z_witch_health, a default game cvar.

man, the thing is i really like the hability of her opening the saferoom. If it's not asking too much, could you make a mod for this function separately?

Strange, my Witch only gains more health when I remove the mod. Another guy said the same thing on the "Witch 2.5k Health Locked" mod, about the Manacat one being incompatible. Turns out I managed to make incompatible tank mods work together for a while too, but they stopped working after i reinstaled the mods. Idk if it's the same case tho
