This mod reworks the system of holding court (and also a few court events along the way).

In vanilla CK3, this feature works as follows: once every five years you press a button and get three random events from a set list. This approach currently has several problems

1) Events are too specific, breaking the suspense of disbelief when they inevitably repeat;

2) Events are overwhelmingly localized in their effects and aimed at randomly selected characters or places, making them insubstantial;

3) Events are outside of player’s control,

My goal is to deal with all of these problems as follows:

1) Make more generic events, reducing the number of repeats for the particular specific incidents;

2) Make most of the events have major global effects;

3) Allow the player a degree of control over their court.

This is done with the framework below:

- The first event (generic, 3 types per court type) provides a player with 5 choices of scaling modifiers affecting relevant stats. If the player wants, they can repeat the same event next court by paying gold, otherwise they get a new random event with chances of repeating reduced;

- The second event (generic) allows the player to affect the new mechanic - Court Axes. Each type of court (except for tribal) has two scales (think DnD alignment chart?), changed by decisions here, passive drift and some of the actions outside of court;

- The third event is pulled from the old vanilla set.

@The Viral Divinity Yes, I have stopped working on the mods for CK3. I expect that this one will also break soon enough when certain action files will be patched, but once again I am happy for people to reuse any of my work.

@Tom G. this is very fair, I might add tooltips later. For now you can see effects in the game files directly (workshop folder -> common\modifiers\)

I love the idea behind this mod, but am a little confused by the second event with the axes. I can see where I can choose to make my court more Efficient vs. Spectacular on one hand or more Traditionalist or Innovative on the other, but the tooltips don't give me any idea what Efficient, Spectacular, Traditionalist, or Innovative actually do. I can't tell what the benefit of one over the other is other than the cost in prestige. Do you have a cheat sheet or guide somewhere with that information?

Is this compataible with mods that add new court and hold court events? Does this modify any of the new previous events in vanilla?
