描述


Warning: Any mod adding new creatures requires a new world to be generated, otherwise they will not spawn (since they were not generated as a part of a world's population).

Creature description
A beautiful dog-sized reptile with glimmering scales. These cavern dwellers are often domesticated for their half-transparent meat and gems they grow in their stomachs (that sadly requires butchering them). They also periodically drop rough crystal glass.

They are found underground and are domestic pets to dwarves.

Their main function is to be pets, as well as butcher animals that produce crystal glass. They also drop rough crystal glass once per few months, using a cleaning interaction on themselves.


Creature population
Biome: Subterranean chasm, 1st-2nd cavern
Population: 25-50

This is one of creatures from my old Genesis mod. I've decided to release each creature separately, so you could pick and choose what you want.


If you like the mod, you will make me happy if you rate it and share it with your friends. And remember, Losing is Fun!





This mod simply adds a new creature (with related bodyparts and inorganic materials), so it cannot conflict with anything.
It needs vanilla materials/bodypart definitions to function.

Hi, I'm sorry I'm a bit confused on how to process the rough crystal glass, do I just cut it? I am trying to make crystal goblets with it but when I try the craft crystal goblet I get job cancellations due to missing ingredients

Why not make them drop Rock Crystal instead?

I think the pattern with this and the moss tortoise is to make common strange mood roadblocks renewable, abundant, and available on embark. No more will dwarfs die from lack of glass and shells!

Gotcha, I do not usually mod to "balance" the game as the game is quite easy for me as is, but this is a useful piece of info, thank you.

I just want to toss in some feedback after long time using this mod, once you get a breeding pair to lay a single clutch of eggs, you'll have so many crystal lizards that you basically get an unlimited crystal glass stream.

I should think it's too strong, though easily mended on an individual repository just lowering the eggs laying. Just for feedback's sake c:

I like these guys, a good mod! The free access to glass shards is a helpful trade boost.
