(6) The Barbara Line

The map:
A classic bridge map. Each player has 8 bridges to cross and one river crossing to defend. The map has 5V points, two on each side and one in the middle at the river crossing.



The history of the Barbara line:
British Eighth Army had broken the Viktor/Volturno Line defences on 6 October 1943. However, they had had to pause at the Trigno river which was a part of the Barbara line to re-group and reorganise their logistics along the poor roads. It therefore was not until the early hours of 2 November 1943 that British Eighth Army attacked across the Trigno river.
