Back in 2014, (Jeez. Feels like forever ago.) I made one of the first soundmods for NMRIH and uploaded it on the forums when they were still active. A number of people replied and really enjoyed it and kept asking me if they could repack it and reupload it. Over the years I forgot to respond and I guess people probably forgot about it.
(I thought it was really cool when one of the developers "Thought", who composed the Soundtrack and sounds for the game commented on it.)

My original direction and design philosophy behind this mod was to make the sounds more realistic and immersive while keeping with the original art style and lore of NMRIH, by rebuilding the sounds and adding enhancements where I was able to, while enhancing and amplifying the elements of fear and horror by sound design and modeling the firearm sounds based on their real life counterpart and caliber. My intentions weren't really to replace the sounds, but to enhance them and build from the original sound design without altering it too much.
My main goal was to make firearms feel less like "Weapons" and more like "Explosive, concussive instruments" that are equally as dangerous and terrifying as the zombies in the game.

-Changed all Firearm firing sound effects.
-Updated some handling sounds for firearms.
-Changed main menu and loading music.
-New hurt sounds. (Removed)
-Added yelling/grunting sounds when swinging melee weapons. (Removed)
-Players audibly yell/panic when pushing. (Removed)
-Characters yell from pain when bitten. (Removed)
-Removed some of the National Guard voice lines on Survival maps so that you're not being spammed so much, but left the most important lines.

-I may update this a little bit and revise it some in the future but it's unlikely sense it's basically finished. But if I get enough feedback and people want me to work on it some more I probably would.
Sense this project is essentially finished and feature complete, there isn't much left for me to do.
The only thing thing left is to add little details and stuff to more of the stock handling sounds, which I'll try to get around to doing and updating in the future in small updates.

-If you're using custom weapon models or anything else that alters weapon sounds, you'll want to have this mod at the top (Or the bottom?) of your mod load order. (I think. :/ )
-This mod is Clientside and will work on normal multiplayer servers.
