Renfe Serie 106

Renfe's 106 series is a high-speed passenger train introduced in 2024, and in-service under Renfe's AVE and AVLO brands. 15 out the 30 trains ordered have the ability to change gauges at special facilities on the Spanish rail network. It also stands out due to the width of the cars, greater than in previous series, allowing increasing passenger capacity by being able to place five seats per row. They were scheduled to be introduced in 2021, but due to several factors, Talgo had to delay the delivery of the units several times. During the inaugural trip, the pantographs failed half-way and the train had to be towed to its destination.
