Kirov District Administration, Leningrad 1935

描述
Originally the House of Soviets of the Moscow-Narva District of Leningrad the Kirov District Administration is one of the jewels of the Leningrad avant-garde. It housed many services and a movie theater.
For the purposes of the game the building is split into several items to be built together, covering the following services:
- Party HQ (150 workers, 50 specialists)
- police department (75 workers, 40 specialists, 7 cars)
- city hall (50 workers, 25 specialists)
- movie theater (50 workers)
- monument (the tower, 2pc loyalty at 500m).

It's very easy to build all components of the building without inconsistencies: once you've selected your construction site and flattened it (the components are colisionless), select one of the components for building - e.g., the Party HQ as it's the central one and biggest -, place it, and then without moving your mouse at all, use the Q/E keys to scroll through the rest of the components and click to place each one of them. They'll all configured on a common reference frame. If you moved the mouse by accident, you can still place the items correctly with the snapping mechanism.

The mod is understandably heavy because of its high detail, and comes with an LOD that reduces memory usage to about half. There is a possibility of adding a 2nd LOD with much bigger reduction of tris sometime in the future.

The modeling, texturing, and scripting was made by me, while Shotkey provided on-location documentation, insights, and advice as to the organization of the building.

This mod has been a looong way in the making. I started working on it in December 2022 as it turns out (O_O'), after Shotkey's suggestion. Hope it's appreciated :)

you're welcome :)

Something weird seems to have gone on, I'm sure I had posted a picture showing the layout of the various modules of the building, but it doesn't show up anymore.

Hum.. I didn't expect that anyone would want to build the components of this building separately, after all it's a specific ensemble...
I'm sorry, I don't think I'll do that any time soon, as it would require a fair amount of time to be done properly, and it would have to be done for both LODs etc, too much redundant work, while I'm eager to carry on with my next mod :/

ErL1x, that's so cool, you live in one of the best districts of the city then :)

Thanks Felipe ^^

Can you close up the models a little so they can be build standalone if we want, without the invisible walls?

The building of the Kirovsky district council was erected by the architect N. A. Trotsky in 1930-1935. One of the vivid manifestations of the Leningrad avant-garde. The building contained district authorities, cultural institutions, mail, and a meeting room. A variety of functions dictated an asymmetric structure. The main four-story building of the building is strongly pulled along the area, striving for a 50-meter rectangular tower with a comb of balconies, which became a high-altitude dominant of the district. This 11-storey tower, crowned with a trimmed cube with a giant sickle and a hammer, is a certain reference to traditional European town halls, at the same time with its gear silhouette, recalling Moscow buildings I. A. Fomin.
