M-3 "Mantis" Light Interceptor

Produced by Red Sands Innovations shortly after the liberation of Mars, the M-3 Mantis swiftly earned a famed reputation for it's manoeuvrability and lethality. The third fighter crafted by the industrial giants, this sleek and agile airframe embodies the pinnacle of Martian engineering prowess. Whether patrolling the outer reaches of the solar system or engaging in intense dogfights amidst asteroid fields, the M-3 Mantis is a symbol of Martian strength and resilience in the unforgiving depths of space.

After being decommissioned by the Martian navy shortly after the first interstellar war the M-3 found a second life as a sought-after commodity in the interstellar arms market. While it's own nation would undergo a major doctrine shift that made such a craft obsolete the M-3's combat prowess as a dogfighter and battle proven reliability would see it become a common sight in the fleets of Mars' neighbours, even Earth would come to see their value and commission several as cheap patrol craft to enforce the trade routes of Luna.

***Author's Notes***
Been sat on this for a few months, using it in PvE and on servers and it feels fairly reliable, at least compared to my old ones that you'll never find here but if you know, you know. This is a fairly small fighter that uses the cockpit's heath as the majority of it's armour, fighting in this thing relies heavily on utilising it's powerful thrust, small silhouette and wing mounted decoys to avoid fire wherever possible making it a pretty fun fighter to fly.
