EMD F7 SP Black Widow Skin Pack

描述
The Legend Begins

The EMD F7 stands as an iconic figure in the realm of diesel locomotives, embodying both the aesthetic elegance and powerful performance that characterized mid-20th-century railroading. Introduced in 1949 by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors, the F7 quickly became a mainstay on North American railroads, renowned for its distinctive "bulldog nose" design and versatile functionality. With its prime mover producing up to 1,500 horsepower, the F7 proved adept at hauling both freight and passenger trains across vast distances, contributing significantly to the modernization of railway operations. Though later surpassed by newer locomotive models, the F7's legacy endures, revered by enthusiasts and remembered fondly for its role in shaping the golden age of rail travel.

Starting in June 1949 and spanning through October of the same year, Southern Pacific (SP) welcomed 120 units of the cutting-edge EMD F7 model, received in ABBA sets. These locomotives were numbered from 6140A to 6169D. However, by December 1949, SP opted for a reconfiguration, abandoning the alpha suffixes. Thus, a comprehensive renumbering of all F units within the system ensued. The cab units (F A) were designated with numbers in the 61** series, while the booster units (F B) were integrated into the 8*** series. Subsequently, additional F7 units arrived from December 1949 to July 1953, adopting the new singular unit series numbering system. These deliveries extended to Southern Pacific, Southern Pacific subsidiary, SSW, and Texas & New Orleans (T&NO) railways.

I'm having an issue where there are triangles missing from the paint on the A units, and the B units have persistent rusty areas around the fans, windows, doors, and pretty much anywhere else where there is a seam. I am having this issue with both the bloody nose and black widow paint.

Very nice! But did the SP have passenger geared F7s? I wasn't aware if they did. Not that I don't like it, I'll definitely use them! Just wondering if they did and I didn't know.
