Compatible with 3.x+

Summary
  • Makes the fog of war completely opaque.
  • Makes hyperlane generation more strategic. Lane generation is more branch-like rather than web-like.
  • Reduces hyperspace travel speed.
  • New Galaxy sizes designed for use with this mod.

Details
  • Fog of war is now completely opaque - You cannot see anything in unexplored areas, including hyperlanes.
  • Stars will now generate in the galactic core (excluding Ring and Cartwheel galaxies).
  • Star height and star pins have been removed to reduce clutter.
  • Hyperspace travel speed reduced by 80%.
  • Added a hyperdrive wind-down time of 15 days (equal to wind-up).
  • Nebulae are larger, more common, and have no minimum distance between them. Their names are now hidden on the map.

New Galaxy Sizes
It is recommended to use one of these.
  • IHAFOW Small (1000 stars)
  • IHAFOW Medium (1750 stars) (Recommended)
  • IHAFOW Large (2500 stars)
  • IHAFOW Huge (5000 stars)
All IHAFOW sizes are compatible with all galaxy shapes.

Recommended Mods
  • Quadrant Fixed - Makes it easier to see the position of your home system on the galaxy map, due to the opaque fog of war.
  • EG* - Dimmer Core - Makes it easier to see the stars in the galactic core.
Both mods have been added as "dependencies" on the right side of the mod page for convenience, but are not required to use this mod.

Other recommended mods:
  • Wild Space 3 Patched - Adds a new "Wild Space" star type that cannot be claimed. At the start of a new game, you can enable "hyperlane shifting", which causes the hyperlane connections to Wild Space zones to change at the start of every year. Adds a bit of challenge and unpredictability to the game.
  • Sensor Expansion - Makes it so that sensors can't see past certain star types such as black holes, neutron stars, etc.
  • Hypertraversal Manipulation 2 - Allows you to manipulate hyperlanes.

Other notes
It is recommended to play this with Hyperlane Density set to either 1.0 or 1.25.
  • 1.0 - More linear generation. Good for creating chokepoints and defensive play, and is generally easier.
  • 1.25 - Similar to above, but more connections results in "islands" forming, with chokepoints being spread further apart. This is more challenging and is the value I would recommend using.

is it possible for you to create a lite version of this mod that only adds the fog of war? I love the aesthetic, but I don't want more stars in the galactic core or the hyperlane changes.

i am a bit confused, the compatibility list says it's compatible with gigastructures but this mod adds stars to the core, which is something giga does lategame, wouldn't that cause issues?

Having the same issue as Fast Boi- I don't load into my preset system, and other empires may claim the planet. Even if it starts unclaimed, my population appears on an uninhabitable planet.

Hello, my human empire spawn is totally bugged, I cannot spawn in the SOL system even when I specifically put the SOL system in the empire edition, and when I spawn, I do so with other alien colonised planets INSIDE my spawn system. My origin is the domed one.
