Rogue Torturer

描述
Because genocide just isn't evil enough for you is it?

This adds a single civic that allows you to be the antithesis to rogue servitor, one who keeps a subset of it's creator species around to torture. This is heavily inspired by the short story I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, although I tried to keep it more open ended in terms of roleplay ability. This should be compatible with most other mods.

How this plays:
- Diplomacy is not completely disabled but you get -1000 opinion from most other empires.
- You start off the game with 5 bio pops of your design, similar to Rogue Servitor, but they do not grow
- You get access to a new bombardment type called 'Armageddon Raiding' that does heavy planet damage and will eventually steal ALL pops from the planet (In the future it will also turn the planet into a tomb world, but this is broken currently)
- You also get access to normal Armageddon Bombardment
- You get a new wargoal type called 'Victim Raid' that's basically a Beefier version of Plunder to give you the opportunity to steal pops
- update: rogue torturers now have the ability to remove positive traits and add negative traits by default after researching the relevant technology
- WARNING: The game won't do anything to stop you from turning worlds into Machine Worlds but this will instantly kill Bio Pops you have on that planet that do not have Machine Preference or Perfect Preference.

I've also added a few other tweeks:
- Crime Syndicates can now do Hostile Takeover wars. (seriously why isn't this vanilla?)
-Post Apocalyptic origin now spawns your pops with the superier Tomb World Preference
- Exotic Habitabilities (Like Machine Preference, Relic Preference, etc) can be researched to be added to other pops if you have pops with those traits
- Can research a live-anywhere Perfect Preference trait one such as Tomb Preference, Habitat Preference, Ringworld Preference, and Gaia Preference have been researched.

Things I would like to add:
- make Colossus' take up Titan slots instead of only being able to build one.
- make the nanite worlds in the L-Cluster always terraformable, instead of only after clearing or the Gray Tempest or Dessanu Consonance.

Would be good to see an update for 4.0 - also, Rogue Torturers would be good as an origin type instead of a civic slot. I had an idea of a campaign combining this and Distant Origin to do a what-if scenario where the astronauts fled the Sol System and still fight Allied Mastercomputer. Would still like to do so.

hey do you plan to update this mod to 4.0?

I also agree with some previous comments that the additional tweaks should probably be moved to a separate mod due to compatibility concerns. Great mod though! Exactly the sort of thing I've been looking to use for evil empires in my galaxy.

It would be cool to see some compatibility between this and Gigastructural engineering. Otherwise this is a cool idea, just wish it was moved to being and origin type also, incase if people don't want to lose a civic slot.

I agree with @sparble in moving the tweaks to a separate mod, I like the idea for this one but with long modlists tweaks need to be considered a bit more carefully for compatibility

The only thing this mod is missing is the appearance of the classic Torment Nexus

How does it effect ecumonopolis?
Sparble 2024 年 5 月 25 日 上午 8:21
I highly recommend moving the other tweaks to a separate mod as this could conflict with other mods that change stuff like Apocalyptic Origin, preferences and habitabilities, or make a separate mod that includes just this new civic + mechanics behind it.
