Scissors

Created for the Unique Assists Fraymakers workshop contest.

Just your normal average pair of scissors here.

Scissors pierces through the stage, creating a portal on your current position when activated, and shortly after, they’ll create another one on your new position. You, the opponents, and projectiles from both can use the portals to teleport between them! The portals only last for a while and have some cooldown between uses.

You can use them for mobility, extending combos, or trolling, but beware that they may backfire if you are not cautious on where you place or use the portals.

A few things that you may found important to know:
- When you create a portal, the assist checks whether your character is on air or not, to determine if the portal is on the air or not.
- You will always get a small upwards boost when teleporting to a portal on the air.
- This boost is significantly bigger if you are crouching or idling before entering the portal.
- The above should prevent from characters dying after being respawned, as respawning cannot prevent you from activating a portal. Watch out for those evil portals on the middle of the map that lead nowhere!
- You also get the small boost if you teleport to a ground portal while performing an aerial.
- Portals won’t teleport if the character is intangible, is grabbing or being grabbed, or if it’s on the ledge or doing any ledge-releated actions.
- Dying before the second portal is created will waste the assist entirely. Be careful with that!
- When creating a portal, Scissors hits any close opponents, but it's not a very strong hit.
- Please note that while I tried with the best of my ability to optimize the assist, it may cause some lag and annoying sounds if you have access to infinite assists and summon an exaggerate amount of them.

Choose among 10 colors (default green included), to “rock” those awesome pair of Scissors, they also match with the portals’ outline.
