The Rapid Strike Corvette is a low tonnage Corvette designed to compliment the Generation 6 ships used in the Sentinel Corps. A 3 fleet Corps designed to defend Artemis from outside the system, just beyond the asteroid field enclosing the system.

Equipped with numerous small caliber turrets, 2 artillery turrets, and 4 railguns; the Venel is able to dish out a decent damage potential while also low scale and with adequate acceleration to make a hasty retreat. Its small size allows the Corvette to play a vital role in ambush tactics and is often used to bolster combat detachments when confronting Sol forces attempting to penetrate the asteroid field.

Internal design, unlike the other ships commonly used in Artemis, is vertical instead of horizontal. The stress from high acceleration and the lack of effective reverse thrust required a new internal design to accommodate the crew who would be on board long term. Backup Grav Gens allow the crew to move about under appropriate pressure when not in motion. If needed, they can even reverse the polarity to propel the ship forward if needed should they lose fuel. It is a last ditch measure but it is one that has proven useful in the past if utilized properly.

On board systems allow for a crew of up to 3 if needed, and an additional 4 should they need to pick up survivors after a battle. This is because the Corvettes are the most commonly used craft to pick through the battle debris after an incursion to swoop up survivors and clear the area. On board medical deck and cryo pods allow injured to receive needed treatment or stasis if the injuries are too severe.

The ship design, much like the other ships in the Gen 6 series, are based on ships from popular fiction from the early 21st century media that was brought to Artemis. The concept being to utilize the characteristics of the design to maximum effect since it was a well planned design. While not an exact replica, the ships are a popular project for the HDI developers who are tasked with R&D. The ship in this instance is an inspired work based on the Pella from a franchise called The Expanse. A fan favorite.

While it is inspired by the Pella, this ship is not a recreation but rather an inspired build only. I am aware the ship details deviate greatly in some places. I designed this ship in a way that would look very much like what would be found in the Expanse but not so much so that it would basically be a copy of anyone else's work. It was a short but fun build and I hope that you guys enjoy it too.
