TALGO Series VII

At the end of the 20th century, Renfe had to face the need to renew the already veteran Talgo III, which was close to the end of its useful life. It also took advantage of the advance of the new High Speed Lines, with a track width of 1435 mm. , incompatible with the Iberian width of 1668 mm. In 1998, Talgo proposed to Renfe the option of a new version of its cars, which was the Talgo VII, and the future incorporation of engines to convert them into self-propelled trains, as it had already done with the BT, which were tractors capable of changing their track width without stopping the march.
In 1999, Renfe signed with Talgo the contract for the purchase of 17 Talgo VII compositions of 9 cars each, consisting of an extreme preferred car, a preferred car, another preferred car with all the necessary comforts for a PMR traveler, a cafeteria car , four tourist cars and finally an extreme tourist. In June 2000, the order was expanded to two more orders for 13 cars and in April 2001, to 27 more cars, with which it could form 5 more Talgo VII consits.
The objective of Renfe Operadora of this last award is to increase by two tourist cars each of the 22 compositions already in service since 2000, in addition to those for which 44 tractor heads were being manufactured, and the other five that would be manufactured later. equipped with tractor heads (in June 2005). This new series of variable gauge trains made up of 11 Talgo VII cars each branch and with Talgo-Bombardier tractor heads was called T-250, by Talgo and S-130 by Renfe Operadora. Since 2003, the new Talgo VII cars ordered would be dedicated to creating self-propelled compositions.
This model was originally made by Derek for Train Simulator Classic, which has allowed it to be adapted for Transport Fever 2. The model has high quality textures and detailed interiors.
This mod incorporates the Talgo VII in the original Altaria version in broad lines livery, and Renfe Operadora versions belonging to the Intercity, Euromed and Alvia Picasso services.
