nep nep, because trees age faster (to make them grow faster), they also die faster. However, they should be producing seedlings faster as well, to compensate. If young trees are being cut down before they can grow and produce seeds as well, that could cause this problem over time, but otherwise it shouldn't be happening.

In my opinion this retracts from the game, removing good forest management as a concern. With this you can stack multiple forester lodges on top of each other and fulfill the wood demands of a major town from just a little clearing.
The less extreme version of the mod might be ok and work as intended without breaking game balance, haven't tested it.
