This mod adds five new Infantry units for the Shogun 2 Campaign, with unique stats, usage, and custom made unit cards!

No, you don't have to run Shogun 2 with it, just have the mod pack in your data folder.

While playing Shogun 2, I felt that some roles were not really met by the current game units. There was a lack of fast, light infantry units, filling the roles of flanking masses of enemy units. There was a lack of skrimish type units, with the bow and the matchlock. There was a lack of an infantry unit in which it keeps public order, assisting filling that niche role where it keeps a settlement-province from rebelling. This mod fills in these particular roles, adding more to gameplay in battles and in the campaign. The Kachi units in particular are faster and less armoured, compared to their regular Samurai ranks. However, this makes them weak against arrow fire. The Metsuke police force are used to keep public order, cracking down on upstart of rebellions. If forced into battle, with their Banzai charge they effectively killing their enemy who dares challenge the authority of their lord.


YARI KACHI:
Requirement: Yari Drill Yard or Higher.
"These lower-class spearmen use the excellent Yari, most useful against cavalry and men alike."
Unit Strength: 160 Men.
Morale: 9.
Melee Attack: 6.
Charge Bonus: 15.
Bonus vs Cavalry: 20.
Armour: 3.
Special: Faster Infantry Unit compared to Ashigaru and Samurai Ranks.

KATANA KACHI:
Requirement: Sword School or Higher.
"These lower-class lightly armored kachi uses the katana to cut down their enemies."
Unit Strength: 160 Men.
Morale: 12.
Melee Attack: 10.
Melee Defence: 5.
Charge Bonus: 15.
Armour: 3.
Special: Faster Infantry Unit compared to Ashigaru and Samurai Ranks.

BOW KACHI:
Requirement: Archery Dojo or Higher.
"These light bow infantry units are excellent skirmishers, raining a volley of arrows out in the open or hidden from view."
Unit Strength: 160 men.
Morale: 8.
Melee Attack: 4.
Melee Defence: 2.
Charge Bonus: 10.
Armour: 2.
Range: 165.
Reload Skill: 30.
Accuracy: 35.
Ammunition: 40.
Special: Faster Infantry Unit compared to Ashigaru and Samurai Ranks. Light Infantry Tactics, Fire Arrows, Can Fire While HIdden.

MATCHLOCK KACHI:
Requirement: Gunsmith or higher.
"These light infantry warriors are great skrimishers, raining fire with the deadly matcklock."
Unit Strength: 100 men.
Morale 8.
Melee Attack: 4.
Melee Defence: 2.
Charge Bonus: 12.
Armour: 2.
Range: 125.
Reload Skill: 30.
Accuracy: 65.
Ammunition: 20.
Special: Faster Infantry Unit compared to Ashigaru and Samurai Ranks. All ranks fire. Light Infantry Tactics, Can Fire While Hidden.

METSUKE POLICE FORCE:
Requirement: Rice Exchange or higher.
"These skilled lightly armored police offcers enforces public order, and dare fight against their lord's enemies."
Unit Strength: 100 men.
Morale: 15.
Melee Attack: 15.
Melee Defence: 6.
Charge Bouns: 20.
Armour: 2.
Special: Rapid Advance, Banzai, +1 to Public Order to a Province.
